go back to them and send them a copy of your confirmed booking.
explain about the higher price and ask them what the intend to do about your confirmed booking.
check their T&C's, and see if there is anything there that would help you, or confirm that they can just cancel your holiday.
i have a feeling that their T&C's will cover them, and you are only entitled to a full refund as they will claim it was a genuine mistake and outside their control.
you could always contact Ros see here for some free advice.

Have they offered you allternatives or have they just refunded your money?

They offered an alternative, but in a different area, so we have argued our case and insisted on the area we booked originally and they have agreed and we are all rebooked. Dearer accomodation, but not our problem!

In case anyone needs it in future, the relevant legisaltion you need is that they are in breach of contract and you ask them to pay the difference in price in respect of ' loss of bargain'

Well done you for standing your ground. Thanks for the advice regarding their breach of contract as I don't think many people knew that.
