pipefitter,
The number of available seats! The maximum you can book online at once is 40. If you need to book for more passengers than that, contact Group Bookings.

the last few times we went with Easyjet from Manchester (to Tenerife) we had airbridges. We dont normally bother with priority boarding on short flights but do so on the longer flights. At Manchester with Speedy boarding you also get a priority checkin position if you need to check in cases etc or to get your boarding cards if you havent already printed them, a nice touch and helpful if there are long queues in the standard checkin line.
Easyjet used to limit the number of Speedy boarders to a max of 30 a flight so if you are happy to be after those that get a chance for the extra legroom seats on the plane and maybe queue a bit longer to check cases in I probably wouldnt bother with it.
Depends what you reasons are to be one of the first on the plane. If there only a coulple of you maybe with 2 kids if you get close to the front of the standard queue you will sit together, if you are last on probably and likely to be split up - but its only around a 2hr flight so maybe this wouldnt cause a probme.
Cant help with Alicante return leg.

Wonder if you can answer a question for me,What is the return journey like from tenerife with speedy boarding?
we are travelling in november.
Did Rhodes last year with SB and whilst the journey going out from Liverpool was great coming back from Rhodes was a nightmare
travelled with my daughter then so we coped.Going with hubby in november and he,s not so good on his feet.

I have seen that Easyjet have issued flights up till 24th June12,from Bristol, any ideas when August 12. Might be released. When did they release for August 11
Anyone know. Thanks.
Sadly our experience with speedy boarding (and priority boarding on Ryanair) at Tenerife is not good but that was a couple of years ago. Because of it and since then we go with Easyjet but return on Monach and pay for extra leg room and therefore prebooked seats which we do when we book the return flights and have relaxed boarding - in our opinion worth paying more for rather than have trhe stampede that we have had on our return journies in the past.
There was no priority checkin at Tenerife, maybe now there is - dont know.
Things may have changed but on our Easyjet / Ryanair return flights we had booked speedy / priority boarding. At the boarding gate they did not have the 'barriers' to divide and signage to identify the speedies from the rest (unlike in the UK) - it was just a mass of people and on one return flight saw the worst manners come out in what are probably calm and pleasant people.
I know for sure Ryanair do not have the barriers / signage etc as we went from Tenerife South to Spain (and back) in April and it was the usual barging for the priority passengers to force their way through the crowd.
Of course you do get on board first with Speedy boarding but be prepared to stand your ground if others start pushing in !!!
Alternatively stay seated and keep well away from the crowd and when speedy boarding is called get those elbows out and 'ease' your way to the front of the queue , you probably will not be first on but certainly ahead of the masses.
I find you just need to be very very assertive and maybe wave your boarding passes about so that others can see the SB printed on them (if you get them at the airport its not printed too large) but at least if shows you are not trying to jump the main queue.
Good luck Chris
We nearly always go with Jet2 and book extra legroom but there was such a difference in price we thought we would give easy one more chance!
Will just have to be forceful as you suggest.
Kind Regards

pieface wrote:Hi have just booked holiday and the airline is easyjet never flown with them before so was just wondering if speedy boarding is worth the money flying from manchester terminal 3 to alicante does anyone know if they use airbridges or buses at manchester and alicante. :tup
Hi pieface
We have just come back from Alicante today on Easyjet and we were bused to the plane, same on the outbound. Can't speak for Manchester end as we are London.
TBH Easyjet were fine for us today, considering it is the height of the holiday season there was no scrum as such, more of an orderly line. We managed 4 seats together, 3 and 1 across the isle. I don't pay for speedy boarding as kids are almost adults so we don't really care if we are split up for a 2 hour 30 flight - we normally fall asleep

Hopefully you will be pleasantly suprised by them.

Hi Thanks for the info I have decided not to bother with speedy boarding save money for few extra beers in beni hope you had a good holiday only 3 weeks for me to wait hope the sun is shining when we go thanks again.

Speedy boarding seems more stressful than normal boarding to me, as you have paid for something extra but then seem to have to fight to get it.

There was more of a scrum at the London end than at Alicante. Due to the way the gates are situated at Alicante the queue seemed to snake along a glass partition at the side of the entrance to the gate in a semi-orderly fashion.
We probably boarded after half the plane was on & were OK & it should be easier for 2. Alicante airport is nice & modern (not sure if you have used it before) but the food was expensive, 6 or 7 Euros for a sandwich, but I guess that is the same in most airports.
Currently 07.48 here in Valencia and its 25c !. We popped down to Benidorm yesterday, it was busy and hot and acording to the local paper high occupancy rates so loads of people. Nice to go down there and nice to come back. Easyjet have been busy !
Agree on Easyjet being busy, which is great to see in a time of recession.

I have put the passenger ID in, printed ticket's off... Is there anything else I need to do? This time round I'm feeling kind of nervous.
Thank you for the info guy's, your help is appreciated,
Ruth.

Anyway, at Manchester it's Terminal 3 which is the little one hidden behind the offices. If arriving by public transport it's a bit of a ramble from the station interchange. If being dropped off it's less hectic than the others.
Thanks for that, where did you manage to find it?
Shopping (and eating) is very limited, until Easyjet moved in this was mostly used for domestic flights so there wasn't a big demand. The latest map is at http://www.manchesterairport.co.uk/manweb.nsf/Content/Terminal3Departures but I'm not sure how accurate it is - things aren't all where they were when I was there in March, but the space won't have got any bigger. The good news is that security isn't as hectic as the other terminals, but coming back passport control is slow because they don't have any fast channels for IRIS or chipped passports (typical - it's the only terminal I've used there since I got a chipped passport!!)
If you're coming in from the M56 follow this map http://www.manchesterairport.co.uk/manweb.nsf/Content/Terminal3PickUpDropOffMaps (definately out of date but the roads are still the same) but if coming from Styal along Ringway Rd take the first left over the red brick railway bridge and follow the road.
Early Summer flights from Gatwick are out now, for up to and including June 2012.
Just booked 2 flights to Dalaman from gatwick in June for £231, cheaper than last year and I thought they would be more
only taking small case as hand luggage. They say handbags must be put in the case but you can also take on a standard carrier bag from duty free. Can we not put our handbag into the carrier bag.
