We were in Costa Teguise (the so-called windiest resort) in July/August a few years ago. It was very windy, especially on the beach, but it was so hot it was nice to have that bit of air circulating, and it was fantastic to watch the kite surfers! We had a morning in Puerto del Carmen and it didn't seem quite as windy there and we also had an hour in Playa Blanca (waiting for the Fuerteventura ferry) and it was quite breezy, but extremely pleasant on the waterfront.

Yes there will be wind but not a hurricane. You will be ever so grateful for it. It means you can lie in the sun comfortably without sweating and the sun screen running from your forehead into your eyes. Ouch!

July is invariably the windiest month of the year in Lanzarote due to the almost constant North East trade winds combining with the summer afternoon sea breezes but it is also the sunniest month having an average of 9.5 hours sunshine a day. :tup

The southern resorts are more sheltered from the wind so if staying in one of those, there is less chance of beng sand-blasted on the beaches.
