Hi

We've never stayed in the Meridan but a colleague at works sister did and she said it was a nice hotel, this hotel is situated at the British end of the resort close to the main road. There are a lot of bars and restaurants around it which I'm sure you will enjoy, the boat trips to Nessebar etc can be enjoyable but it usually works out cheaper to jump on the bus.

If you've never been before the best advice I can give is go with an open mind and you'll not go wrong, when it comes to changing money check the boards as you may find that some of them show a price out side that's too good to be true then it usually is. There is a good exchange place further up the main road opposite the bus station called string they will usually give you a good rate, failing that use Crown or your hotel exchange desk.

If you venture up into the centre head a long the artist street to the Mercury Hotel and use the supermarket here for any cigs or drink as their items are original and they won't cheap you and Anna and Evo will always meet you with a smile. If you're looking for some football tops etc then just past the casino on the same side you'll find Nicky he only sells good copies and very reasonable prices. A little further along you will find the entrance to the Royal Mall which is good for a few bargins.

We're not that long back so if you want any ideas on nice restaurants etc off the tourist track let us know and we'll give you an idea.

As stated on the previous post go with an open mind. I love Bulgaria and would not hesitate in recommending it as a place to visit. I prefer Golden Sands to Sunny Beach but that is just my personal preference. I thought Golden sands was a smaller resort which suited me.

You will find lots of places to eat and they are all cheap. Buses from the main bus station take you out and about for 1 to 3 levs. Some of the reps trips can be done by local bus.

Enjoy

Please take the time to visit St Vlas, nice at night

Hi there,

We stayed at the Meridian the year it was built, 2005. This was our first trip to Bulgaria, and Sunny beach, and it should tell you everything you need to know that we are booked up for 2010, although we are not staying at the Meridian this time. Don't get me wrong, the Meridian was/is a lovely hotel, we just like to try others so we can compare.
There is lots to do in and around Sunny Beach, boat trips, Khans Tent, other villages to visit, caves you can go to, it dependes what you enjoy doing on holiday, but i am sure you will enjoy yourself.
As has already been said, go with an open mind as your expectations may be very different to the next
Jeanette xx :)
