The DfT is funding an initiative to help with screening electrical items at security to check if they contain concealed explosives , it hopes to find a way of not having to take out electrical items of hand baggage for checks which many passengers now carry in their hand luggage .
I'm sure this will help solve delays and confusion at security points , as when passengers are asked to remove tablets a fair number take out their medication for checking !!

...wish they would sort out the inconsistencies in the "policy" -earlier this year I fished out my tablet and Kindle, only to be told that the Kindle was fine, yet in May, the security people had all my mains adapters and cables out as well!
