Hi guys - desperately need some advice with AirflightsDirect & Libra holidays.
Basically booked flights only to Larnaka in Cyprus for 2 adults with Libra via Airflights.co.uk, but flights turned out to be XL which ceased trading 10 days before we were to fly.
Tried ringing both Libra and Airflights for days but phones busy (or off hook?). So as alternate flights were dissapearing and prices rising by the minute we decided we needed to book PDQ.
No attempt was made to contact me until a week later - 3 days before we flew, when new flights were given (not offered) to Paphos i.e. at a different airport at the other side of the island and departing 10 hours earlier, this would have incurred £100s extra in transfers - and offers to pay transfer costs flatly refused. With alternative (and non-refundable) flights already booked we refused the new tickets and they basically said "take them or leave them but you're paying for them".
I quoted EU regs 261/2004 re. cancellations to be offered a refund, but Airflights state it was a flight change not a cancellation, in which case Libras T&Cs do state that "alternate arrival airport is not classed as a major change and no additional costs will be paid".
So it seems that no one interested in doing anything unless forced. Even the Credit card co. insists that since an alternative was offered - no help or refund will be given by them and that 'unsuitability' is not an issue. Plus I'm guessing ATOL will say "get lost" as Libra will have already claimed the cash back for our XL flights.
So, anyone know if I have any recourse whatsoever (god I hope so) ?

I am not sure on this one, they feel they have covered the flying to the best of their ability and not leaving you without anything. If their T&C state the arrival airport is not a major change I guess you have signed and accepted these. Many only going to court will be able to settle this and they may come down on the fact that you agreed the T&C's.
I would see an airport as a major change. Think you will need to speak to Ros on this one as it doesnt look good. An argument could be made that you tried to find out what was happenning but got no response but this maybe difficult to prove.

I can understand why you are so unhappy and I would feel the same. I would hope you would have some recourse as it doesn't seem like a reasonable alternative to me.
