I went to a party there last week !!
- very nice too ...though the high ceilings in some rooms do make it a bit chilly.
Great place to stay if you want to visit Chester.
By the way, its not really that old...it was built in the 19th century by a wealthy businessman. However, you are not that far from Beeston Castle which is the genuine article......though largely a ruin.

booked for 2 nights with late rooms .com booked tuesday and wednesday it was a gift for my husband and myself cost about 120£ for the 2 nights with meals extra
hope your party went ok did you find the castle as awesome as we did
The party was great !
Unfortunately the coach that was hired to take us there took a wrong turn and ended up stuck, a mile down a mud track next to the castle !!! It ended up backing all the way back to the main road which made us half an hour late - all part of the evenings entertainment

Well today I received the brochure, not very informative at all. There is only one interior photo showing a cramped looking dining room. 3 exterior views and 2 others 1 of bottles and 1 of glasses which tell you nothing.
Enclosed with it was a hand written piece of paper purporting to be a price list as follows.
Double £120
4-post executive £150
Single £85
That is all, there is no information re whether these prices are per room or per person, or even if it includes breakfast and if so is it full English or continental.
Overall the info I have received does not give me any incentive to book.

Patka,
At least you got a brochure, I requested one back in October and they only sent me a piece of card showing the castle itself.
Does look good though, maybe one day.

Yes Gail, that's it, a piece of card folded, it's pathetic.
Definitely not my idea of a quality product.
