It's not likely that I'll be going back to Oz again, but what places would you recommend for others to see, do and eat while they are out there and not pay a fortune for the pleasure.

My list will be:

1. Q1 Tower on the Gold Coast. Best viewing point over the area and cheap too - about $20 or £12 if you're a giffer.

2. Tin Can Bay in Queensland. Feed the Dolphins in their natural habitat.

3. Fraser Island off Queensland. The desert island where you can see some of the last full bred Dingoes and do a great 4 X 4 adventure.

4. A City Cat trip up the Brisbane River. Stop off anywhere on the river and have a look round, all for the price of a day rover ticket - about $6. Visit the Regatta pub for a great beer and food.

5. Currumbin Animal Sanctuary on the Gold Coast. A lot smaller than Australia Zoo, and feed the Wild Lorrikeets for the price of a bowl of feed. (Couple of $'s)

6. For dining out, Hogs Breath Cafes for the best prime ribs ever. (Not the cheapest, but excellent!)

7. Another pub is the "Lone Star" group where you get a good feed.

8. R.S.L Clubs (similar to our British Legion), Surf Clubs and Power Boat Clubs all offer cheap membership, good food, good atmosphere and you get discounts off the food and drink that will more than make up for your Members Fees. (Caloundra charge $5 for mnmbership.)

9. Castle Hill in Townsville for the view and Magnetic Island just off Townsville. (Don't hire a car, use the local bus service - it's safer!)

!0. Top tip should be, "Always wash the sand off yourself when you leave the beach - the sand flies are killers!)
