There are so many good deals for over Xmas, I dont know which hotel would be best for my hubby and I. We both love the beach and are just looking for a nice relaxing holiday with good food/drink. Preferably looking for a hotel which AI customers are given access to the A la carte restaurants. Can anyone please give me some advice on which hotel is best out of the three below : -
Baron Palms Resort
Reef Oasis Blue Bay
Dreams Beach Hotel
We have checked reviews for all 3 hotels and they all seem good. Aaaargh - too much choice!
Any help would be much appreciated.
We stayed at the Reef Oasis Blue Bay last December and are going back this December! It was great. We'd never been to Egypt before but couldn't believe our luck. It's a big complex, 4 pools, 2 amphitheatres, 5/6 bars spread around the grounds. Big main restaurant and always managed to fill up with good found. They have fish, italian and french a la carte restaurants which you can use but may have to pay a "top up" to eat there. There is a set menu in the italian that you can have and we really enjoyed that. There is also a 24 hours snack bar. The hotel has its own reef and sandy beach so you just walk off the end of the jetty to an unbelievable undersea world. Rooms are great, small block of two story rooms with really big beds, fabulous bathrooms, tea/coffee making facilities and best of all a fridge which is re-stocked daily with soft drinks and water (sorry no beer - that didn't bother me as I don't drink).
Thomson are the only UK company that do this hotel, don't confuse it with the one that Thomas Cook do - that's the reef oasis long beach and not quite as good as this.
Been to Hurghada Hilton Plaza in May this year and not a patch on the Reef Oasis and I didn't much like it. Can't say why really, but it just wasn't the same. Naama Bay is nearest town to the Reef Oasis and a very busy commericalised resort - worth a visit - once! Courtesy bus runs from hotel.
Also, Dive Centre at this hotel with special designated pool to learn in before taking to the sea. Towels provided at every pool and beach around the complex.
Love it! Can you tell?

Sounds ideal Shelagh, you may just have won me over with that. We stayed in the Jaz Mirabel Beach hotel in the Summer on our first stay to Egypt. I really want to try somewhere different though and the Reef Oasis Blue Bay sounds perfect.
Can you tell me what is the weather like in December? Is it still "sunbathing" weather?

Well last December (5th) it was 30 degrees during the day. It obviously goes dark earlier in the winter time and evenings were cool - cardigan - not overcoat.
Excellent for sunbathing and the sea was quite warm too. One pool at Reef Oasis is heated, and I mean heated, its like getting in the warm bath. The other pools are freezing, but had to go down the waterslides into the freezing water.
Just fabulous is all I can say about it really.
