Hi, my wife and myself will be going to Thailand for the 1st time in May (can't wait!!!) and she is adamant about going on an elephant ride. We are staying 2 nights in Bangkok, 7 nights in Phuket and 7 nights in Koh Samui and wondered which is the best place is to do such a thing. Hope someone can help. Thanks in advance

We did the elephant rides and waterfalls in Koh Samui - really enjoyed it.
Kok Chang Safari in Phuket is really good, the elephant treks to he top of the summit and the views are spectacular. Google cathyandgarys travel pages and I have a website with loads of photos from Kok Chang. There is also a lovely bar/restaurant just before Kok Chang called the Small Viewpoint restaurant, good cheap food and drinks and its perched on the side of the cliff. Well worth going to.
