Hi,
I am booked to visit Hammamet on 9th April and will be bringing my two teenage children with me.
Can anyone let me know what the atmosphere / mood is like in the area at the moment?
Whilst Tunisia is generally out of the news at the moment, I am concerned that the situation may still be volatile and am not sure that a holiday there is a good idea.
Many thnaks,
Barry

I along with many others are going this weekend.

There have been some reports on Trip Advisor from people returning and from people who live there and all is great.
The people want the tourists back and are very welcoming.

I have friends living in Hammamet, and even a couple of days after the main problems there they said that Hammamet was pretty much back to normal - apart from being empty of tourists that is. I wouldn't have any concerns about going there right now. In fact the only reason I'm not is that I'm saving my pennies to hopefully go later in the year.
I've been to Hammamet many times and love it - I'm sure you will too. Tunisia needs the tourists back right now, and as Jay Trip has said, you'll almost certainly receive a very warm welcome, if recent reports from people coming back from there are anything to go by.
So please go - and have a great time

                Thanks for the replies.
It has left me feeling less worried about what is going on there.
I ahve been twice before and am looking forward to sipping a beer on the terrace of the brauhaus during sunset.
If anyone has any other tips, I would gladly receive them!
