[spoiler]No surprises for me with the outcome. They werent going to send home this year's novelty act after the first show. They can use Rylan later in the series when the better singers are left. During Carolynne's song, the floor manager was talking to Louis. He was told he had to take it to deadlock. Its a pantomime and for all those screaming fix, we all knew it would happen. Carolynne was the better singer tonight, no doubt about it. Having said that, im not overly upset that Rylan is still in.[/spoiler]

I think the spoiler is really for info about the show before it has been aired. I wouldn't worry too much about spoilers afterwards.

I'm very disappointed with Louis dithering and actually saving Caroline but not using the correct wording in the process. Because of that he was asked to clarify at which point he went to deadlock. The result was thus reversed , a very shabby untidy way to send a talented singer home.

I agree Frank his first comment should have been taken.

saying that though I wasn't really pressed with her either I thought the group Union J or whatever they are called were dire and should have been in the bottom 2 rather than her.

There's 5 young lads in Union J, each one will have their own tweeny following so I guess they'll be around for a while.

I thought Louis would pick Rylan to stay as he likes the odd bods (he chose Wagner) plus he didn't put Caroline through from boot camp last year. I don't know who he really wanted to choose last night but the dithering was just silly.

Carolynne did deserve to go through last night but wouldn't of gone far in the competition I don't think. At that point, like many others before her that were just too ordinary she would be just a distant memory.

Rylan ok hasnt the greatest voice (although I've heard him sing much better than that sing off) but he has a certain x factor & marketability factor and will make money . Ok not as a serious artist but theres several others out there like Jedward that have done very nicely for themselves.. better than a lot of the actual winners .Coming from Essex I like him but I don't see the public in general warming to him.

Mrs. Kiltie pointed out to me that there was somebody clearly caught on camera kneeling just behind Louis whispering to him during Carolynne's sing off, was he being told what way to vote - a conspiracy

I thought Carolynn had a lovely voice but just didn't stand out. My favourites are Ella, Jarmane and James at the moment.

I said in here last night that I seen someone talking to Louis whilst Carolynne was singing. She said on Daybreak this morning that she had seen it as well and it was very off putting. Thing is I think we have always known that x factor has an element of fixing involved (im not saying phone rigging or stuff like that, but public manipulation etc) but its becoming more and more obvious. I dont personally vote until the very last show and then will let daughter vote just the once. Im not lining scowell's pockets! So I shall continue watching fixed or not

Think Rylan will be the act that everyone loves to hate and will join the wall of fame with Wagner, Jedward, Kitty Brucknell, Katie Waissel etc etc They will keep him in because he generates a lot of money and they can pitch him against the better singers later in the series. There was no way he was going last night.

Personally, I like him, even if he isnt that good a singer. Someone said to me today that he is classically handsome. I really do agree with that, just a shame he bats for another team really

dont you think there are easier ways of speaking to Louis than the way they did? Look at the publicity they got. Now they will lose some but they will be gambling on gaining more viewers. I also think now that Dermot was in it too- as he didn't take louis' first decision and asked him to say it again.He was clear enough to me when he said Carolyn was going through. Nicole will also have been told that Rylan had to be in her top 3

strange how you go further in these programs if your gay and not a great singer.(my opinion)
i thought it was a singing competition...not a looks .competition.
and Louis was clearly heard saying i want to "save" Carolynne.

In the Xtra factor Dermot was interviewed about that judges vote. He said that the rules about the wording were quite specific. The judges MUST specify who they are sending home, so he could not accept Louis's garbled I want to save comment. He had to make him say the right form of response. Dermot was not to blame.

And Gary's flouncing off in the huff will also have helped the ratings
