I booked a cruise last night with planet cruise. I was told that as it was 9 months away they couldn't clarify flights and that it was likely that we would need to change aircraft with a wait in-between. I was offered the option of paying for having direct flights. I had said that it would be more convenient, and as part of a conversation in respect of our hotel at Miami airport being vacated early on the day of the cruise I wasn't v impressed with having to kill time to midday/1pm with four people and four suitcases. So we paid £800 to pay for direct flights. I looked this morning to find that our direct flight is 8 hours after we leave the ship, so we will just be waiting in the airport. I phoned today to say the conversation was around convenience and at no time was I told this would be the case and I have been mis-sold this upgrade. The person on the end of the phone said I hadn't, I asked him to listen to the call as at no point was this information given to me, despite my not wanting to hang around with suitcases. After a time the person phoned to say that we could use our direct flight to Miami but he had found another earlier flight but we would have to change in new York with a 2 hour delay, at the cost of another £148 - I said so I have been sold a more convenient flight, when it wasn't and now to go back to changing I have to pay more - I want the original flights, but he has told me they are now booked. I would not believe a word this company says I think they are just out to get more money at every turn. I am now not looking forward to the holiday and wish I had gone to my normal travel agent. I don't believe anything they have since told me, please be warned.
