I didn't go recently, but the most important thing that the hotel has going for it that can't change, is its excellent location.In the course of walking from the Accadamia or the Duomo to the Uffizi, for instance, you walk past the front door. This meant that it was very easy to pop back to drop off purchases or change shoes in the middle of the day. The only reservation I had was that the aircon was set very low and it was quite warm at night, even at the end of April.
Everything else, breakfast, room etc was fine, and you don't spend a lot of time in your hotel when visiting Florence - there's too much to see and do!
