I'm going to Nerja for two weeks with my boyfriends family, we've rented a villa so going self catering.
I enjoy tasting local dishes so will eat out a few nights but the rest will be probably spent cooking as a group.
We've hired a car as well but I am worried about how much spending money we'll need. It will just be covering me and my boyfriend but will £700 be enough for a fortnight?
I'm not sure how far money goes in Spain as never been there before so any help would be great.
Also any suggestions for stuff (cheap) to do - have already decided will be going to water park in Fuengirola & their zoo as well as the Nerja caves.
£700 should be fine as long as you're both not massive drinkers and you don't eat out everyday!
At most places you'll get 2 meals and a drink each for about 20 euros! Depends really where you go to eat as I'm sure some posh places it'll be 50 euros for the meals!!!
As you're going with his family does that mean his parents will be paying for the food you eat at the appartment or will you have to chip in your share also?

We may get lucky & get a meal or two cooked for us by his parents/rest of family (there are 11 of us in total), but I don't like to take advantage too much so will be mainly paying for our own food.
As we are staying in a villa there is a BBQ there so will prob have a few of those while there.

£700 should be fine for just the 2 of you. I have never stayed in Nerja but in Benalmadena the supermarkets are very cheap and sell everything you could imagine (including vino by the litre for cents!!!
)
Also lots of restaurants offer "Menu del Dia", for around €8 to €10 each, with wine! Chinese restaurants are even cheaper, around €4.50! Obviously it depends if you like to go out to posh places to eat, but even then, they are still much cheaper than here
Based on €75 per day for the 2 of you, and you will be cooking some of the time, you should be fine.

Oh, and don't forget your discount voucher for the waterpark
