Arpora Julie - think the French Bakeryis Sebastians just before Lagoa Azul on th opposit side of the street
This particular French bakery is actually in the village at the back of Maizons apartments and nightclub. Over the bridge. It is quite tucked away.
It's actually just outside Arpora - there's a left fork at an apartment block and its down the windy lane on the left. 
The breakfast menu is so good we drive all the way from the Fort Aguada area just for our breakfast.

whey, hey! I can't believe how few times this restaurant is mentioned on this forum. It is by far the best restaurant in Goa, with an excellent setting too.Le Restaurant Francais - Baga

Could be the cost - it's not in the normal Goa price range.

It hardly breaks the bank and is in the same price range as after seven. For the quality of food you get, it is very cheap in comparison to how much it would cost you anywhere in europe.
It's down the lane beside shooters if anyone is interested, and they also have La Plage in ashvem which is brilliant to go to during the day.

It's on the Baga - Calangute road. On your left if you are travelling from Baga - Calangute. be warned, it can be quite hard to find during the day, as it looks like nothing, but at night it is totally transformed into an outdoor Parisien dream. You should also book a table in advance. You won't be disappointed!

Roma - try the Navtara in Mapusa - it is alot better than the one in Panjim. For some reason the food is better and the staff are much nice. The staff at the one in Panjim seem to have developed a couldn't care less attitude and when we in there a couple of weeks ago the food was cold and when we complained they just shrugged their shoulders. The manager is a really nice guy but it was his day off and we havn't been in since. Use the Hotel Fidalgo now in Panjim - very good veggie food and the Kamat is ok - good veggie burgers.

Thanks thatmanhere - will try next time. We ate at the Navtara in Panjim last December and I have to say both the service and the food were excellent.
That's the thing with restaurants - it's all about what happens in that one or two hours you happen to be there. No good if it goes down the pan when the manager isn't there though.
