Hello,can anyone tell us if there is anywhere on in menorca that my teenage son can have a go at windsurfing,I've seen Fornells has a school for lessons,but he did not want anything quite so serious.

To be honest you wont find that many places anywhere that you can just turn up and hire kit without any experience. Most require to see some form of cert of competence such as an RYA ticket.
Can your son actually sail a windsurf board?
The place you mention at Fornells would be your best bet as they will teach him how to tack and gybe therefore being able to turn it around and get back to where he started and hopefully not needing to be rescued from 3 miles out in the med.
The wind in the bay there is not to strong so its a good place to learn.
