Could you specify a few more details, for example in which country do you want to purchase/rent in, and what sort of property you are seeking, palace, farm, flat etc. That may help us help you more effectively.

Apologies,
I orinigally posted in the Turkey discussion section, but it got moved.

I am trying to buy property in Turkey.
Any information on reputable agencies in the UK would be greatly appreciated.
I have spoken to Aquavista, who I have been impressed with, considering it is only over the phone.
Many thanks in advance.

Turkey requires now that anyone doing real estate must be licensed. Is this the same case in the UK?

Thanks,

The trouble with a lot of UK agents covering Turkey is that they are not specialists and cover a lot of countries and when things go wrong they struggle to get through to the right people as much as the individual does.

The best UK agency I have heard of is SpotBlue who only sell Turkey property and are based in the UK, they are linked to Savilles who are very good.

Turkey Villa is a great website and has a whole section of for sale by owner properties. Sometimes buying direct from an owner can be better as they can talk you through all the stuff they learned and experienced when they were buying.

With any purchase in Turkey do loads and loads of research first and during and take your time.

Agree with Karyn on this one a lot of the UK based agents only forward the client info on to the agents on the ground here in Turkey. I know this as 17 UK companies use me here in Turkey!!

Thus the UK agent may not be fully versed with the systems out here.

What ever agents you use Please do plenty of research and dont rush into it. Make sure you have a very sound contract, and if an agent or developer is pushing you hard be wary.
