Hi Barrie it won't take no more than 10 min's that's walking slow pace it's on the opposite side of the road from Dona Alcina.

Barrie very short walk and worth it!!! Eight of us have just got back from viva Goa where we ordered loads of dishes and 3 had butterscotch ice cream after with fresh fruit salad (yummy) I had the chonak a local fish done rochaedo, which is a spiucy tasty dressing and the whole lot with drinks (plenty of them!!) came to 450 rupees £5 ish each (86 to the pound)?? !!! ludicrous really!!!!!!!!!!!!! that included a tip of about £3 and we had some food left over!!!!!!
i am shattered and off to bed now!! must be the swimming and honey bee ........ahh hard life!!!!!

Are there any nice restaurants in the capital Panjim?
i remember a few years ago we went shopping in Panjim and we stopped off for lunch somewhere near the main shops, and it wasnt a tourist bar, they didnt serve alcohol, but the prices were like a third of what baga/candolim/calangute charged

Is the public bar open in calangute?
We ate in Cactus Tuesday - my missus had the "best ever" steak Diane and it was very nice, shame my Xacuti wasn't up to much, the chicken Tikka was very nice. The best meal so far has been in Kebabs and Curries (999) cheese roti was "to die for"
Where's that?
yummymummy
the public bar in calangute seems to be closed and is being re-developed, i passed last week and there was building work going on - i think it was being dismanteled - sorry for the bad news
