Hi Everyone, We hope to find a last minute holiday during the last half of August preferably in a privately owned 2 bed or large 1 bed apartment that sleeps 4. We have not been to Benalmadena or anywhere along that coast before usually taking our holidays in the Canary Islands or Majorca, so some advice would be very welcome.

I have spent numerous hours online searching 4* complexes with good reviews that have facilities and entertainment to keep our two boys (10 and 14) occupied and by far the best to date are the Sunset Beach Resort and Benal Beach Apartments, mainly because of their excellent pools, waterslides and entertainment. Out of the two I am guessing that Benal would be best for the location as Sunset is a 25 minute walk from the Marina.

We like a lively resort with a good selection of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance to choose from, but certainly not in your face like Magaluf! From reading threads on this board La Carihueta is highly recommended but I just wondered if there were any complexes similar to Sunset Beach and Benal in that area and how far this area is from Benal. If anyone has a map showing Benalmadena and hotels and could post a link that would be great.

Any recommendations/advice would be very welcome - Private owner websites, local rental companies, hotel website I would be very grateful. I have scoured holiday rentals, owners direct, holidaylets, etc websites already! Many thanks in advance. Jan
