I think the best one will be the White Rocks in Lassi it's beautiful but don't think Argastoli has a beach of it's own

White Rocks beach is in walking distance but also you can get a bus or taxi both are reasonalbloy prices

Follow the minor coast road out of Argostoli (to the left facing the sea) towards Lassi and theres a good sandy beach within 20 mins. White Rocks will take at least an hour.

I think that I`ll be too tired going 1st day somewhere that is not quit a near to my accomodation. I rented a car by internet for 23st, so than it starts my trip over the island.

Just grab a taxi!! Won't cost that much! You will pass the beaches from the airport on the way into Argostoli...you pass through Lassi where they are. Makris Yialos = Long Beach...which runs into Plati Yialos = wide beach. Just big expanse of beautiful beach!! A good few years since we've been back there...but have stayed in Argostoli and just outside in Lassi. Our son went back a few years ago and Lassi has now been built up quite a bit. THE hotel..White Rocks...is at the extreme end of these beaches with its own private 'spit' of beach. Just dump your suitcases ...grab your swimmers and a taxi!!! Only about 10minutes by taxi.
Be sure to visit Drogarti Caves and Melissini Lake!!! Wonderful!!
