Hi

Anyone know if you can pay to guarentee to sit together? Or is the only way your seat your choice now?

dramaqueen,

There are two options; pre-booked seating (seats together) or Your Seat Your Choice (choose your seat). Bear in my, pre-booked seating together by definition can including seating across an isle or one behind the other. You can book it through your agent, online or by phone.

Thanks Daz

Any idea how much it is to book to sit togehter? Your seat your choice is £10 each each way. They are going to Cuba.

dramaqueen,

Everything is on Thomas Cooks website. Enter your booking reference, and prices and options are displated. Pre-booking seating together is £10 each per flight. This is required in order to select seating.

Hi, I'm hoping someone knows about TC Your Seat Your Choice. When I booked my holiday I paid extra (£38 for 2ad and 2ch) for what I thought was seats together. Just been looking at my invoice and can see I have the option to log on to the website and actually select my seats. Have just done this but there appears to be a further £5 charge pp per flight? So another £40 for the 4 of us on top of the £38 I have already paid?? Please can someone clarify what exactly I have paid for already? If I don't preselect seats myself will they still guarantee we sit together?

Did you pay for pre-booked seating or for select your seat? You have to pay for pre-booked seating together, then extra to select actual seat numbers. It can get expensive for a family.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I booked over the phone and asked to book prebooked seating which in the past has just meant guaranteed seats together. On my invoice it states 'Your seat Your choice'. Have got to call them with another query so will ask about the seats at the same time.

I went onto the Thomas Cook website and was surprised to see I can book our seats already though we're not flying for another 6 months. They're also asking for another £60 quid yet I'd already paid at the time of booking for guaranteed seating together. Can someone confirm this is correct please as I don't remember last time I had to pay twice for both seating together and choosing your seat number. Thanks.

When we flew with TC in the summer we paid £6pp per flight for seating together when we booked but if we wanted to choose our seat numbers (which we did on line at a later date) we had to pay an extra £7 pp per flight. Making it a total of £52 for us both.

Mdollar,

There's often confusion between pre-booking seating together, and Your Seat, Your Choice. Pre-booked seating together just means seats will be allocated together for all those under your booking. This can include seats across an isle or one behind the other. If you want to choose a specific seat number, this is at extra cost on top of pre-booked seating. Pre-booked seating alone doesn't allow you to choose the seat numbers. If you just want to guarantee seating together, pre-booked seating alone is fine. If you want to sit in a particular seat, eg I wanted a particular window seat the other week, then some choose to select a specific seat number. If you aren't fussed where you sit though, just together, then don't worry about selecting your seat and save the money.

"If you want to choose a specific seat number, this is at extra cost on top of pre-booked seating."

I'm not sure that's entirely accurate. Either that or I'm confused. We go to Florida at the end of this month and I did not pre-book seating together. I have, however, since been online and chosen my specific seats at £10pp. So what exactly is the point of paying the earlier charge if the Your Seat Your Choice option absolutely guarantees you will sit wherever you want for just one price?

Im also confused. I havent prebooked seats but seemingly i can pay £10 per person on your seat your choice. If i use this service, can i then be moved as i havent prebooked? Very confusing indeed.

Darren , could you advise on aircraft and seat configuration on my flight....TCX2052 Manchester to Alicante on the 28th June, Thank you

Well I've never been able to book 'your seat, your choice' without also booking seats together. Mind when it happened last year, I was unaware that I'd pre-booked seats until I had a good read through my invoice. Apparently they'd ticked the pre book seats box during the on-line booking process and it was up to me to untick if I didn't want it (I hadn't noticed this at the time). However, as I was happy with the price quoted for the holiday I was a happy bunny to find out my seating had been pre-booked. As I said in an earlier post I then decided to pay extra to choose our set numbers.

When I went on line to choose 'your seat your choice', not only did they charge me for the privelege but they also tried charging me again for booking seats together. I did get it sorted eventually.

Just looked out my booking confirmation, states on it i can book 'your seat your choice' from the 28th April. Ive input all my details onto the website, my details are showing and it looks like i can indeed book my choice of seats for £10 return pp, only thing is it is showing a seat configuration of 2-4-2, and i thought it would a single aisle 3-3 configuration, think i will hold off till 28th and see if anything changes.
