Hi Darren - we are flying from Manchester to Punta Cana on 12th August - what type of plane will it be pleasE?
Thanks
Please quote flight numbers when requesting aircraft information as there are often multiple flights. This ensures we get the correct information for you. MAN-PUJ-MAN (TCX048K/L) are operated by an Airbus A330-200. you'll find further aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below).

thanks darren your brilliant as always. i just couldnt stand the 4 hours without something to watch. im always excited when going back to ukl do need something to make time seem quicker so not getting fustrated.
Thank you Darren, thats just what I wanted to know.
New to the board, but it looks amazing! Perfect for some pre-departure fact findings!

I have just booked my honeymoon for my wife and I. We are going to Montego Bay on the 27th September from LGW at 1250 and returning back to Gatwick on the 4th at 1850. I think we are on an Airbus 330 but do you know which one it will be?
Plus will the outbound be the plane's first flight of the day or will it be following on from somewhere else?
Many thanks for all your help in advance.
Sean
Welcome onboard and congratulations for your upcoming wedding

LGW-MBJ-LGW (TCX077K/L) are indeed operated by an Airbus A330-200. It'll be one of the former My Travel aircraft (G-MLJL / MDBD / OMYT). We can't say which exact one this far out as they swap and change all the time. It makes little differene in any case, they are all the same inside. The aircraft will operate a long haul flight before yours, arriving in Gatwick that morning. It generally operates LGW-Cancun-LGW (TCX087K/L) prior to your flight arriving at 0905 Monday morning, then on to your flight departing at 1250. You'll find further aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below).

Thanks for the quick response! We've chosen our seats already and it looks like a very quiet flight - so hopefully lots of space!
How strict are they on size. We have some new small suitcases which are only just over the size limits. We are talking a couple of cm.
Thanks for any info
Thomas Cook, in my experience, are the strictest of the charter airlines with regards to luggage weight and size. If the bags you have are within weight limts and only just over the size, if you can squash them a little you may get away with it. However if they are the rigid type and won't fit in the measuring baskets, you run the risk of them being refused travel. The reason is there's only so much room to store bags in the cabin. If everyone arrived with a bag that's only just over the size limit, space would be a problem.

Darren mentioned about strict weight limits, i overheard someone trying to check in a 41KG suitcase yesterday and were quite happily shouting across the terminal about how the check in agent was doing them wrong, which to be quite honest is ridicilous, needless to say they were not allowed to take it until it was below 30KG (apart from they actually were

Also problem with Your Seat Your Choice not being available overseas is a problem with the handling agents and not actually with TC who do send all of the details across its whether the handling agent at the destination is using it.
hi, am flying glasgow to faro on july 24th on flight tcx 971k and returning 1 week later on tcx971k. I heard this would be on aurela planes and feel very nervous about this. Should I be concerned?
"Thanks for the quick response! We've chosen our seats already and it looks like a very quiet flight - so hopefully lots of space!" Wouldn't bet on that; only shows those that have selected seats.
We go on 3 Aug from Mcr but this flight number is also used from Glasgow.
We have our tickets and nothing mentioned re stopping in Glasgow and nothing was mentioned when flights were booked.
I booked TC as it was direct but if it goes via Glasgow thats not direct

People often get confused between direct and non-stop. They are different things. Non-stop, as it says, doesn't stop until it reaches its destination.
Thanks for the reply darren. I'll not risk it as they are not squashable so will look for something else. Don't want to be refused travel for 2cm
Welcome onboard

TCX have leased a few aircraft for the summer season. Each of those aircraft are being operated to TCX's high standards so there's no need to worry. There have been a couple of technical delays with the Aurela aircraft, but that's no different than other aircraft in the fleet.

wendy7654,
just trying to keep an eye on my TC flight that I'll be boarding 2 weeks today and according to flight tracker TCX 293 that was scheduled to depart from Cardiff at 8am this morning, is now estimated to depart at 5am tomorrow. This seems like a heck of a delay. Do you have any info on whether this is correct and maybe the reason for the delay please? I know I have 2 weeks to go but am inquisitive. thanks.
I wouldn't trust the information you've seen. I have the aircraft airborne at 0713 UTC (0813 BST), operated by G-OMYJ.
Darren
I know that TCX041K (12/10/10) will be operated by an Airbus A330-200 but, is it too early to know the registration no. and whether it's an ex MYT or TC plane?
John
