Flight Only / Airline and Airports

Discussions relating to flight only, airlines and airports.
pizzajohn,

It's way too early to know the specific aircraft (registration) operating your flight as they are rotated regularly. Your flight will be operated by a former MYT aircraft though, they are the assigned long haul aircraft for the summer.

Thanks for that Darren,

That means I get to view the bellycam :) . You know, in all my travels, I've yet to fly on an airliner with nose and wheel cameras!

We are flying BFS - Reus TCX397K & L return. A321 is on the invoice. What are the best seats to prebook to see the drop down tv's? We normally like sitting about 6 rows or so from the back of the plane.

Last time we had drop down tv's on the plane I couldn't see them, too close to one and too far away from the other :rofl

Actually is it even worthwhile pre booking on such a short flight? :think

Thank you

jaimec,

There are no best seats really. Screens drop down every 4 rows from the overhead panel, starting over row 1.

Hello everyone ! I'm back after a few months ...

Sorry if the matter was already answered but do we know more about the end of Premium on long haul flights for TCX ?

I had a look on the newest brochure and it's not mentioned anywhere ...

I'm thinking ahead for 2012 (2011 is booked for Jan to Cayo Coco but in Eco) and might prefer Thomson in that case ...

Many thanks in advance for your help !

Being removed end of Winter 10/11 so no for next summer due to APD tax mainly. If you are looking for 2012 you may wish to consider Thomson as this will be probably the B787 Dreamliner, this may not also have premium depends on APD Tax again.

Travelling to Bodrum from Newcastle on 16th August on TCX628 (and back again) - what can I expect in terms of plane and IFE? PSPs and £7.50 each with 28in pitch? Sounds dreadful!

Many thanks !!

It really is a shame as it was very nice ...

Does TCX plan to enhance their Economy service, like including drinks as well on the long haul flights and will they keep the 33'' seat pitch on their A330 fleet ?
Reply
Julmops,

There are no plans as far as I've heard to change the current economy facilities. Drinks are unlikely ever to become part of the fare as it's a good revenue earner and more the domain of full fare scheduled airlines.

NCL-BJV-NCL (TCX628K/L) are operated by a Boeing 757-200. IFE is therefore not provided but hand hand players should be available for hire. You'll find further aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below).

Thanks Darren ! What about the seat pitch though ?

Julmops,

As I mentioned above, there are no plans as far as I've heard to change anything in economy.

Oops sorry, didn't pick it was also for the pitch ...

Thanks a lot !

Had to switch from Onur Air and their 30 inch pitch to TCX and their 28 inch - thanks to Goldtrail's demise. Not looking forward to it for 4hours or so - I always end up with marks on my knees with such a small pitch!

I suppose it could be worse!

Thanks to all for the info!

Does anyone know where I can find reviews of Thomas Cook Long Haul? I see the 33" seat pitch is pretty good, but other than that I have no idea what they are like.

Thanks

We are flying on the MAN-PUJ-MAN (TCX048K/L) on Thursday 29th July

Can you tell me where the aircraft comes from prior to our flight?

Thanks in advance

littlebw,

The aircraft normally comes in from Holguin (TCX073K/L), sometimes Las Vegas (TCX043K/L).
