urgent advice needed....9 days to go and may need to cancel

Hi there some of you may have read my threads about forth comming stay at the green golf resort Tenerife.
I wont go into the details of those threads or id be here all night but we are due to go in 9 days time and this afternoon my daught aged 12 has tripped whilst at her nanns house anyway to cut a long story short we have just got back from A & E and she has had x rays and has chipped one of the bones in her foot and is unable to walk.
We have to return to the fracture clinic tomorow morning to see about having a plaster cast on. I have said we are due to go away and if it wouldnt be detremental to Rebekah i would rather they didnt. That may sound harsh but obviously if they say its best for her then i agree with them

What would be our position about cancelling the holiday?
9 days we are due to go. Would she be able to fly with cast on?
Would we only get her money back as she is the only one afected?
Please advise.

Hi Kat ... if the doctor certifies that she is unfit to travel, your insurer would consider a claim for cancellation from all members of the party, subject to any policy excess charges.

We are flying with Thomas Cook airlines, Would they let her fly with a cast on?

If not and the hosp cert her unfit to fly how likely is it that we would all get money back?
We do have the option of leaving her with Grandparents but thats not ideal

If the doctor certifies her fit to fly, his written word should be good enough for TCA.

If he certifies her unfit to fly, his written word should be good enough for your insurer. Presumably all members of the party are insured with the one company, or perhaps even on the same policy ? I would expect the insurer to meet full cancellation costs, less any policy excess charges which may apply.

Plaster Casts

Given that the body swells when in the air it is not a good idea to travel with a limb in plaster as this can stop the blood flow. If you child is in plaster you will have to discuss this with your doctor.

Hi there thanks again for all resposes. Thankfully Rebekah doesnt need a cast on. We've been to frature clinic and they have given her crutches for today and would you belive good old NHS we have to go back AGAIN tomorow to have a air cast / brace fitted which will just help her with mobility whislt were away.
My worries / concerns on my other threads are like a disstant memory and i need a holl. The thought that we wouldnt be able to go made me realise just how much we want to. Anyway a happy ending ( kind of ) and only 8 days to go x
