We stayed in Nov 2007. Pleasantly surprised with the rooms, lovely views over the beach and sea, clean and air conditioned. We stayed SC but always ate out but there were adequate cooking facilities for anyone wanting to use them.
Used the hotel restaurant a couple of times in the evening and regularly at lunchtime and the food was quite acceptable.
Great location right on the beach and easy taxi/bus ride into Bridgtown or St Lawrence Gap
The staff were great, always happy and smiling. Only exceptions were in the bar in the evening. Bar closed at 11.00 pm on the dot and staff were quite reluctant to serve drinks from 10.30 onwards.
Never stayed in the for entertainment but it always sounded good as we were getting ready to go out. Ted's Tours are a must, great day out and a he is a real character. Great steaks at Fred's Bar a couple of minutes walk away.
Certainly would stay here if returning the Barbados. A really nice family run hotel.

A plesant hotel/appartment ideally located to travel either up to St james or walking distance/ small bus ride to the gap etc , family run.
The room was not air conditioned but us going in June this did not cause any problems. Still very hot but were cooled down by the heavy showers which did happen being the tropical season, and were refreshing! We did have a couple of very strong fans so dont think air con would have been needed anyway.
We were pleased to have gone self catering as so many lovely restaurants in Barbados it would have been ashame to be thinking we had paid all inclusive and feel we were paying twice for food.
Chinese food is excellent value, there is also a fantastic indian restaurant in St james- the only one on the island!

We stayed at Coconut Court in Hastings 2 miles east of Bridgetown, 1st March to 15th March 2004.
The hotel is nicely situated in the south of the island close to all the activities. Steps from the hotel lead straight down on to the beach. Good pool and Jacuzzi and lots of sunbeds. Free towels for sunbeds are provided and can be exchanged as often as you wish. Early March is classed as high season in Barbados but there was always plenty of room around the pool at the hotel.
One entrance to hotel from road and one entrance from beach, both manned 24 hours by security. The hotel had lots of live entertainment even during the day, however the bar closed at 11.00pm prompt, though the Red Rooster, which is just across the road from the hotel entrance did stay open much later.
We were staying SC so we did not try the hotel food but were told that it was very good.
Our twin bed room was not air conditioned and we were very hot at times even though the room had 2 fans. Room catering very basic with no hob, just a grill/toaster, kettle, fridge/freezer. Maid attended and cleaned room every day and there were lots of friendly staff keeping the grounds clean and tidy.
We ate in many different restaurants and hotels and the meals were all very good, at around
