Never return, disgusting

We arrive late afternoon and had a quite large 1 bed and living room. Broken bed, black gunk coming out of air con, mould in bathroom, broken draws, 2 towels for 3. So we dropped off the bags and went to talk to reception who said they would sort it.

Went for food, walked into main cafe greeted by a large number of flies, no covers on food, pouring hot onto cold and nothing was fresh. We then saw people we had arrived with and his wife was in tears wanted to go home, it was that bad.

We went to bed early as there was nothing to do but drink, no night life.

The staff were unhelpful, so we moved after a week to a better hotel. Would never return.

All Inclusive Hotel situated on a lovely beach in Guardalavaca.

The Hotel is an amalgamation of four hotels so accomodation is varied. The room I stayed in was somewhat basic and didn't have a balcony. The air conditioner unit was extremely loud and could only be adjusted by climbing up on a chair and reaching inside to switch off (remote control was missing and though reported was not replaced).

The food wasn't particularly good, with not a lot of choice in the main buffet restaurant though there were a couple of a la carte speciality restaurants which could be used at no extra charge, plus another buffet restaurant in one of the other hotel blocks. There was also a 24hr snack bar. Vegetarians beware, there were some salads but often they contained chopped up ham. Be prepared to eat plenty of Omelettes!!

The staff were reasonably friendly though service can be basic.

I only stayed there a few nights as it was the start of an extensive tour of Cuba but don't think I would have liked to stay longer.

The beach was lovely though and there were some free watersports on offer.

When we arrived saw the room I wanted to leave, not the picture in brochure no balcony and just enough space between wall and single bed to squeeze past.

Door on wardrobe hanging off oh and no towels available we arrived at 6pm after a very long squashed 10hr flight. Got transferred to the bungalows, wow bigger rooms were shower over bath was bigger than the small square we left.

Though both beds were broken and hanging down to the floor decided to share the best of both. As when it rained there was a huge damp patch above my bed of the wall.

They were cleaned daily, they had to be! Food was OK if you like a lot of omelets, overcooked veg and under cooked pork and chicken, very bland. After meal we usually returned to our room as the bars were usually busy with people sheltering from the evenings downpour.

Never to return again.

Had a great time with good location, the weather really hot thank god they had good working air/con. 17celcius in room, 40plus outside.

The food was not the best, supplies ran out once or twice in the liquid refreshment department but who goes for fish and chips or jellied eels and Adnams ales.

Friendly staff, punctuated with a request while swimming in the sea, do you want any cheap cigars or have you any sun cream?

Rooms spotlessly clean, beach superb, with plenty of friendly english people and smiling cubans who were not only outnumberd by the not so friendly canadians who all seemed to be of italian/french connections.

I can only ask what do I call myself in I moved to Canada am I a British Canadian?

Beats sleezy Ibiza etc and all for the same price.....

Location very good if you wanted a quiet holiday on the beach or around the pool.

Food was nice but the fussy eaters may find room to complain.

Beach was nice and there were plenty of pools with plenty of sun beds.

Staff were very friendly and this is the first all inclusive holiday that I've been on where the staff encouraged you to eat and drink more, with waiters coming and serving you with a friendly smile.

Evening entertainment was great. Very good band playing traditional music with the band changing weekly. Other shows included aquatic ballet on one evening, all of a very high standard.

The food was the worst we have ever had and was covered with flies, the same food every day until it was eaten, and cold carrots for breakfast, mind you we did lose lots of weight which was good.

The customers were mostly Cubans that the Cuban government had paid for as a reward for being good workers, this meant that they were drunk most of the day and night.

We could not use the nearby hotels as we had been told because the guards would not let us in as we had the wrong coloured wrist bands.

If you did not tip the bar men it took a long time to get a drink

We stayed at the Village. The food was the worst we have ever eaten and please believe me, we are not fussy eaters.

There is only one restaurant within walking distance and their menu was limited to say the least. If you go, make sure you get your complimentary tickets to another hotel up the beach, as the food there, was like a banquet for royalty compared to ours.

All in all you get what you pay for and there are much better facilities in other resorts in Cuba. I would recommend that you pay extra and get put in a decent complex.

However "The Rep" Bulgarian chappy was very helpful and we did go on some great excursions. The Catamaran is a must! So is the visit to Havanah.
