The cleanliness could not be faulted.

Food was all self-service and the quality was excellent with great variety.

Good location and we had rooms at the front of the hotel overlooking the harbour. However, no air-conditioning meant we slept with the windows open and the fan (provided free) on. Beneath our window was one of the many cafes which was noisy well into the night. No "rowdies" just people on holiday enjoying themselves. The bins on the harbour side are emptied at 05:30 every morning!
A room safe was provided free.

The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

Entertainment was limited to the "Croatian Evening" when a folk group played for us. This did not bother us as we don't go on holiday for hotel entertainment.

British guests were outnumbered about 10 to 1 by Germans.

The hotel was very nice, lovely and clean, food very good with a couple of themed nights, the staff were very friendly, the only complaint was being woken up every morning at 7am by the dustmen as we were at the back of the hotel, try and get a sea view.

The hotel location was excellent, plenty of boat trips to different places, the Noddy train was very good value and it went to some lovely beach areas. The bus service was very limited though, check the timetable before you go anywhere.

The entertainment in the evenings was quite limited, if we hadn't met some lovely people it would have been a bit boring as they only had a resident band a couple of evenings a week.

We would go again but request a sea view.

The hotel was stuck in the 1930's, what you would expect from an eastern european country. In its hey day it would have been very grand. Dont get me wrong it was a nice hotel, the lobby area felt very luxurious.

The rooms however were pokey, and lacked air conditioning. but always kept clean. We had trouble with our window, which didn't lock properly, after reporting the problem to the reception desk and the rep, someone came to fix it, however it was not fixed throughout the whole week.

Hotel food was excellent, this I wouldn't fault. Fresh fish, allsorts of meat, correctly cooked veg (not soggy) and nice mini cakes for afters. There were freshfruit and salad bar too.

A word of warning though, the Hotel was over run with german guests, who in their nature push infront of you in ques and who are seemingly bad mannered. The hotel and staff appear to cater for the germans on the whole. This can be a bit intimidating.

entertainment????? - What entertainment?!

The hotel is located on St. Nicholas Island, you have to get a ferry to the mainland, ensure you check the timetables, it can be over 30 mins wait if you miss it. Again the German guests like to be on the boat first.

The Hotel is excellent, especially the staff, who couldn't do enough for you.

The food is diverse and plentiful.. we stayed for two weeks and weren't bored with it.

Themed evening once a week was good but apart from the band on Sat/Sun evening this was the sum total of entertainment.

I had a room with a balcony and would agree it was worth the extra for the views of the harbour and peninsula. It was lovely in the morning watching the boats go out packed full of tourist on their day trips to Rovinj.

Rooms are basic though and a bit of colour might brighten them up.

John and I stayed at the Neptune in Porec. The hotel staff were wonderful. The rooms were basic, but very clean and we paid for a balcony which is worth the extra money. The rooms needed air conditioning, but they said that this was being dealt with and hopefully installed next year.
