We have always enjoyed our Greek island holidays, but suppose there had to be an exception eventually. Our stay in Crete was marred by (a) the weather, and (b) the accommodation. Having paid extra for direct transfers by taxi to and from the airport, we rather disappointed when directed to a standard minibus that served several hotels. The disappointment increased on our arrival; our second upgrade to a family sized room with sea views turned out to be a small twin bedroom with a collapsing wooden floor and bedside wall sockets that refused to power anything. On requesting a room change with the hotel reception, we were advised that our allocation was the only room available with a good sea view.

The poolside bar staff were friendly enough, but the overall standard of service was mediocre. Entertainment amounted to a northern club singer, who broke his own holiday to try and lift the spirits of his fellow guests each evening. He succeeded in part, and should be commended for it, but how much

The food is repetitive. Examples of meals: fish stew, veal stew, grilled liver, once there was spaghetti bolognaise but with pasta twirls not real spaghetti. The salads are good and plentiful, but I think vegetarians would get bored. Plenty of bread and rolls with butter and margarine.

The queues for food and tables at mealtimes are crazy. There is no snack bar for food throughout the day, just breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you go out for the day, you can request a packed lunch but you have to ask for it before 8pm the night before.

The beds are wooden with slats and hard mattresses, but that's what I've had every time I've been to Greece so I expected it. We were lucky and got a room with a seaview and air conditioning (35 euros a week).

Its a very hard walk down to the beach, which is pebbles and rocks, and even harder walking back. The entertainment was poor. The childrens disco lasted 20 minutes. The kids were taught the moves to the dances and then they danced to about 5 songs, and every day, the same songs in the same order!! Their attempt at getting people to have a go at Greek dancing fell on deaf ears mostly and only a handful of people had a go.

Once there was karaoke which was quite fun to watch (no I didn't have a go!). I think we were lucky and got a decent room, but some of the rooms I saw were disgusting. No air conditioning, balcony doors that had a half inch gap at the bottom for the mosquitos to get in, no fridge, and a strong smell of drains all the time. We paid

If you are even considering booking your holiday to this hotel - don't waste your money! Believe all the other reviews on this site - they are not exaggerating. In fact, I think they are being quite kind.

My husband and I spent our 3rd wedding anniversary in the reception with about 30 other holiday makers that had also arrived the day before. We all had similar tales of terrible rotting rooms and very poor facilities. The hotel is in a terrible state of disrepair and is very very dirty.

I got ill and I never get ill on holidays. We learnt very quickly not to eat the food there once we had seen cats walking around in the kitchen whilst they were cooking (if you can call it that)! I wouldn't feed that slop to a pig.

The pool had fungus growing in it and some people were getting ear infections and bad stomachs. We saw the maid one morning cleaning round the pool with a mop and no bucket - I was confused until I saw her dip the mop in the pool and carry on! I could not believe what I was seeing.

The rep was useless and did not care that we were upset and disappointed with very good reason. The bar staff were friendly but forget the rest. The management sat around watching people, which makes you feel very uncomfortable. We tried to change hotels but we would have had to pay hundreds. Instead we spent a fortune going into the village, which wasn't that good either. Not to mention expensive.

The only good thing from the holiday are the great friends we met that we have kept in touch with.

Like another report on this site says - I would not go back there even if I was paid to! Life's too short. Don't do it!!

Hotel sat up a steep hill, took 20 minutes to walk down to the sea and a lot longer to walk back.

Taxi back was 7 euros. All inclusive was only certain locally produced alcohol, which stopped being all inclusive at 11pm. Food was appaling, salad was covered in flies, same food over and over or rehashed, there was one 2 slice toaster for all guests at breakfast, so queues became lengthy, in the end we had to eat out to survive.

Concrete beds and I do mean bases made of concrete, dirty broken showers, rude reception staff. Non existant snacks with cold coffee all day. Lost weight on the holiday.

I would never go back. Not even for a free holiday. Be warned!!!!!!!!!!
