me and my 3 friends came here in july 2007. we had an amazing time and have no complaints. the resort is only a coach jorney away from the lively nightlife in malia which is easy enough to get. goleden bay apartments are in a lovely quiet area. we had the best of both worlds as we had peace in the day and partying at night. the staff at the resort are ever so friendly and made us feel very welcome, they also looked out for us aswell as we were 17. the apartments are very clean and we had clean towles every other day. the pool is a perfect size for the type of resort it is and the other guests were lovely. i would definately recomend golden bay to people who want a relaxing holiday.

Golden Bay Apartments were very nice & friendly.
The rooms were clean, spacious, and very well set out in and around the pool, bar etc. Pool was basic but nice and the pool bar was run excellently with the most hard working staff I have ever met.
Expensive pool table 2euros a game, Internet available in a separate room inexpensive. Bar was very nice with glass all round and Yannis had thousands of songs available via the PC at the bar. Mythos draught 2.50 euros, bottles 3.50 euros. Magners was expensive at 6 euros but he was trying to get that down. Try bartering with raki etc!
Food was good and reasonable price - 1/2 ltr of house red only 4 euro - Most dishes around 7-9 euros.

These apartments are clean, and spacious, and we were lucky to have a lovely view of the sea.
The kitchen equipment is basic but adequate. The maid service was very good.
The pool is a little small and gets busy. I found the times of pool opening very confusing, and it was not usually ready for use when it is stated that it will be.
There are a couple of small supermarkets near by.

Perfect for a relaxing holiday, just what we were looking for.
Apartments were basic and clean (normal in Greece) but had everything needed, we had no intentions of cooking but there was a hob and toaster if you needed them. Bathroom had hairdryer and shaver point.
We ate in the hotel a few times food and service was good average 2 course meal with drinks was approx 25- 30 euro. They have specials which are set menus for 8-10 euros each the Greek night is well worth it plenty of food wine and dancing. pool pretty small with sun beds around did get quite busy, pool bar served breakfast/snacks etc all very good full English 4 euros, omelettes very nice, drinks pretty reasonable.
Located right on the sea front with a short walk past shops and tavernas( 5 mins stroll ) to the nearest beach with sun beds etc 5 euros 2 beds and brolly, some had free beds as long as you bought a drink probably worked out the same, Further beaches 10 - 20 mins walk opposite way towards Gouves.
Overall good location very quiet.

Our visit to the Golden Bay apartments was a fantastic holiday I miss every one already an I've bin back just a couple of hours!
The hotel staff were great George , Yanna and Yanis oh not forgetting Ranya, were all great staff they are all really friendly and talktive.
The food in the tavern was great and the hotel entertainment was good,they have traditonal greek nights very entertaining.
The nights I had there were great. Im going back next year.
All around its a great place. I would advise people to go .

Goldenbay was the best holiday ever! I have been there twice and everyone is nice. Yanna is really friendly and works really hard. Ranya is really nice and works at the reception and is a bar maid at night.
Yanni is really funny and is really nice to the kids and also does lots of hard work. George is really funny and works at the bar he talks loads and likes making people laugh and showing off his tricks.
Golden bay will be the best holiday you ever have trust me!!

I think that the hotel and staff were excellent but the only thing that wasnt great was that we were situated in the middle of nowhere really as there were hardly no shops and had to travel to find them.
I would definately go back to this hotel as it was so clean and the staff were so friendly they loved to help and were so king and great to the kids.
The apartments were excellent and gets a 10/10 from our family!

My family and I stayed at Golden Bay for a second time. Beautiful apartment overlooking the sea and the island of Nisi Dia.
Clean and friendly. The staff were lovely and remembered us from our previous visit.
All rooms had been updated with new showers and furniture.

First time to Golden Bay the hotel was excellent, very clean and tidy. The rooms are the largest we have ever been to in Greece.
Staff very very nice and always willing to help. Very quiet place excellent for a very relaxing holiday.
Hotel has been totally refurbished this year and you can tell. Has there own taverna and the food is excellent and plenty of choice.
Would recommend this hotel and will be booking to go back.

We were immediately impressed by the friendliness of the staff, it was 4am when we arrived and we were met by Mike who showed us everything The Golden Bay had to offer.
Being half board, we paid 10 euros for breakfast and dinner and although the choice is slightly more limited compared to the main menu, it was all mainly traditional Greek food and definately worth the money.
The rooms were cleaned every day with the exception of Sundays and the pool was cleaned everyday.
The pool bar also offer a wide range of food and drinks throughout the day, and we highly reccommend the "Golden Bay Special" cocktail.
The nightlife of the hotel is fairly quiet, although there are a number of themed nights, such as traditional Greek dancing and Karaoke.
All in all we would highly reccommend this hotel for families and couples eeking a quieter holiday, although people with young children may find entertainment limiting.
