The actual resort was perfect.

The Resort itself was very bleak and dusty and looked very much like a war zone down the back streets. The promenade and port were quite nice though.

The Restaurants were nice in the town along the promenade and there are plenty to choose from, however that's all that was there. Don't expect to find your usual Kareoke bars and kids happy hour pubs.

It made a refreshing change actually! Very relaxing.
The beach is of pebbles and dark grey which looks a bit glum but the sea clear blue and nice for a swim!

All in all we had a nice holiday despite the food, drink and entertainment but would not book to go back and doubt we would go to Crete again either as the Airport topped it off for us on our way home!!

The resort of Ierapetra is close walking distance of the hotel, it's an old traditional town with shops, harbour and a fortress.

On the sea front there are taverna's and gift shops. It's a fairly quiet town and not commercialised at all, it's no Malia if that's what your after.

The whole area is traditional and quiet and suppose to be the hottest and most southernly town in the med.

Car hire is reasonable about £100 for 4 days with a decent size car and there's plenty to expolore up the mountains etc..

Transfer from the airport is approx. 2 hours or a little less.

The resort is a very quiet traditional Greek village. Not much entertainment but excellent sea view bars which are very clean and offer good food and drink. Lovel harbour area, friendly people, overall for a quiet relaxing holiday a fantastic place.

Ierapetra is the most beautiful resort we have ever been to. The local people are so friendly, we intend to live here when we retire.
We used the Cafe on the Rocks Pub as a meeting place.
There were sixteen of us and we would stroll down from the hotel. The children would fish, the woment would go shopping and the men would watch football. Any sport we wanted to watch Dimitri would put on for us. We had excellent food here, English and Greek. If they had rooms here, I would move in.

We really love it here.
We loved fishing off the promenade outside the Cafe on the Rocks Pub. We caught lots of fish and uncle John could sit and watch us fish drinking beer. He would buy us ice creams and milk shakes.
The views of the mountains were awesome.
The shops are great to buy all sorts of things.

Ierapatra is a lovely place. A place where you can relax and unwind.
The local people are so friendly, they sit and drink with at night offering you drinks in their shops during the day.
Spiros who has the Aquarius souvenir shop took us to his village in the mountains to meet his famliy which a wonderful thing to do as we have only just met him.
If you go to Ierapetra you must visit cafe on Rock Pub where staff are friendly, helpful and the food is fantastic.

Ierapetra is very clean and the people here are very friendly. Michael at Venus Shop invited us in for wine and coffee.
We brought our grandchildren with us and we felt safe even at night and the Greek seem to really like elderly people and children.
We had some lovely meals at the cafe on the rocks. We ate Greek food and the children could have whatever they wanted.
I would love to come here again.
