The resort is very quiet - a few bars and taverns along the beach - very good value and a change from the buffet, they all have kids playgrounds etc.

Small shop outside the front of the Hotel, a lot cheaper than Hotel shop.

The Beach is very pebbly and the sea gets deep very quickly. We hired a car from Motor Maleme (outside the front of the Hotel) very cheap and all inc insurance. We went to Elafonisi Beach by car (hour drive) most amazing beach I have ever been to with crystal clear shallow waters and amazing scenery. We got a bit lost and travelled through the mountain roads - not for the faint hearted. Very scary but very beautiful countryside.

I wouldnt visit again purely on the basis that Crete is a large Island and I would prefer to visit a different part.

I would rate the Hotel/Resort overall as 3 star but with no major gripes.

The resort was again very clean, not loads of shops but a few for those holiday nik naks plus a scattering of tavernas and very friendly people, pebbly beach but very clean and clear waters with plenty of water sports to try.

Beach is not particularly suitable for young children but because we the pools were excellent we didn't really want to go to the beach.

If you want a really relaxing holiday, and do nothing this would be ideal. The resort itself is quite and there is nothing to do.

The idea of the beach being just a stone throw is great, but very stoney and the sand gets very hot, again not enough beds on the beach, but there are the free canoes and pedloes.
In all the animation team get you fired up during the day, but a let down at night. Sorry
Would not go back to this resort as two weeks too long.

Maleme where the hotel is very small infact I think tere was only our hotel a shop and a petrol station. The hotel beach is also poor, we only walked onto it of an evening sometimes after dinner to skim stones and watch the sun go down. Only times we went on it in day was for pedalos, canoes and big banana. The nearest place of note is Planataes (about 10mins by car/bus) which is strung out along both sides of a road and has a large selection of bars, resturants and tourist shops. This is worth a visit and we had a very enjoyable meal in one of the resturants on our first Saturday night.Quite expensive but posh.Chania which is a little further on (about 30mins) and the hotel runs a free coach to and from everyday is really worth a visit with loads of diverse shops, markets, bars etc and although the Euro has taken its toll it still dosen't seen as expensive as other Euro zones. For example lots of sales in the shoe shops, so many shops I guess the competion keeps prices keen. You could also get boat trips from the picturesque harbour. All in all we had a good holiday in Crete and wouldn't mind going there again one day.

Beach was shingle and very rocky, the sea was dangerous with the wind as it made the current very strong. You were advised on arrival to keep eye on flags at all times as they changed frequantly during the day.

The resort of Maleme is a bit remote, the beach isn't very big and is a pebble one.

Not much to do in the evenings if you like going for a walk.

This is the only thing that lets this hotel down.If you could pick it up and move it somewhere else it would be perfect.

Theres nothing nearby except a couple of tavernas. We had an infant in our party and there were no nice walks to take him on to get him off to sleep!

I would definitely go to the hotel again though as you dont actually have to leave the complex as everything is there for you.
