Apartments on arrival very clean and well looked after. Receptionists all really friendly and deal with money exchange, queries, booking cabs etc. we went self catering but the food in the snack bar is excellent value for money especially the all day breakfast at E3.20 including coffee! The rooms are very basic and extremely hot as no air con. Also we hired a fan but I felt it was expensive at E20 a week and didnt do a great job. However this is a great location for restaurants, shops, supermarket but a 15 minute walk to the beach. Very central for all the things you needed. The Bar staff are all very friendly. The entertainent was good although at early evening it was mostly aimed at the younger child. My 2 kids soon got a bit bored by the kids bingo and mini disco every evening. But you are near some great bars like Cheers and Peach Ppit which are a lot more livelier although these dont get busy til 9 pm ish. In the evening the entertianment in the apartments ranged from pretty average to fantastic. Great hypnotist, great comedian and my youngest (who is 10) loved the reptile show. Mark the entertainer really entertained the kids and was fantastic! Nothing was too much trouble for him.

We stayed at the sol de alcudia apartments there was 13 in our group with ages ranging from 5yrs to 67yrs.
We had an excellant holiday the staff looked after us and the rep was so helpful and friendly.
Our son loved the pool and spent most of the time in it. The pool was very clean and tidy the food was good especially the breakfast and value for money.
The apartments were very clean and tidy basic but what more can you ask for. We will be looking at returning next year for another excellant holiday.

We've just returned from Alcudia and thought I'd post my update.

The hotel itself was very welcoming. Maria, the receptionist in particular was very clear and particular. 110% to her. She did impress upon me the need to ensure the front door was double locked and make sure the patio doors were locked whenever we left the room. Guess what? Patio doors didnt lock!

The cooker in the room didn't work. We informed the rep. Guess what? No feedback at all, but plenty of feeedback offered about the trips/shows on offer.

The showers were cold, and I mean cold. It's ok when you come off a 30 degree+ beach for a quick swill down but not so funny when you want to wash your hair. Again the rep was informed. Guess what? yup the water was still cold after a week.

Would I go back? Doubt it. But the food was nice, the staff very friendly and helpful. Entertainment was diabolical. We went to the White Rose or Cheers bar, a lot cheaper than eating in restaurants towards the beach front.

It was a good holiday all in all (apart from the kid screaming in the apartment next door!).

Second time we have visiyed this hotel. It is great value for money.Frank the entertainer was excellent and our kids loved him and he was graet with all the kids. There was allways plenty of things to do water polo, pool comp, shooting etc.The entertainment at night was good but the only thing was some things were repeated the second week, but we just done other things when they were on.The hotel was very clean and all the staff were very helpfull. The only think was you had to que for the sunbeds in the morning and then it was arush to get a good spot, but this is not the only place this had happened to us.Would definatley go back when the euro gets better.

My boyfriend and I travelled to the Sol De Alcudia Hotel (not to be confused with the Sol de Alcudia Apartments next door, and the Sol De Alcudia Center across the road) in the middle of June for ten nights. We got a fantastic price from YouTravel -

We have just returned from a 1 week holiday in Alcudia. (2 adults and 2 kids aged 7 and 4).

The flights were great the transfers no problem and the apartments very clean and basic but everything you need when on holiday.

We had a 1 bed apartment on 1st floor overlooking the pool area, which was really nice.
We had towels changed 3 times and linen once mid week which was sufficient.

We only ate breakfast in the complex once which was ok but did get nicer out (ie, bugs bunny's, woody woodpeckers, etc).

There were some good shows on of an evening at the complex but we went out and about quite a bit. The entertainer is a character!!!! if you like Shameless, our kids loved the parrot show and the snakes.

My only complaint was the amount of noise that there was of a night. The entertainment on the complex finished around midnight but the bars round the side ie, Good Fella's stayed open till 4am and it was really noisy. The kids had the bedroom and they managed to slept all night it was just us that couldn't.

This said other people in the hotel had no problems sleeping it seemed we just got unlucky with the location of our room, but glad we didn't go further into the season when it's likely to be worse still.

I would suggest using the Spar shop over the road as this is the cheapest we found and things are expensive over there.

Overall a great holiday the kids loved it. We would definately go back again but maybe pack some earplugs!! but for the money it was great.

We went to the sol de alcudia apartments for 2 weeks in mid September and it was excellent. The staff were very friendly and was always there to help with anything. What ever you needed they would try their utter most too get it for you. The rep (Tracy) was very helpful making sure we got the most out of our holiday their. The entertainers (Olive Oil) and later (big al aka Frank because he looked like frank from shamless) were superb and got all the kids involved and entertained (so they got tired eairly :-) ) which then all the dads piled onto the bar and after a good few pints of san miguel went back to the "unhappy sheilas" too get told off. very good all round and would go back tomorrow given the chance. oh and arnold gutbucket is a must see if your going in the next few weeks.

Having booked this hotel via Fleetway travel - I found it very difficult to obtain a clear idea of which hotel the various web based hotel review sites refer to. To clear up any confusion here, this hotel is the "Sol de Alcudia" and should not be confused with the "Aparthotel Sol Alcudia" - which is next door and is a self catering apartment complex. In addition, there is the "Sol Alcudia Centre" hotel across the road. Either way, when we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised by the standards and facilities of the hotel. Any concerns I had prior to arriving did not materialize and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this hotel to other people intending to visit Alcudia. (Note that we had booked 2 rooms - One for my wife and myself and one for my two teenage sons, aged 16 and 14 - which was an arrangement that worked out well)

I found the hotel to be very clean, the staff helpful and the location was central to the bars and shops around the town. There is no childrens club or ever present "entertainer", constant music, or repeated invites to join in the water polo contest - which means that the time we spent by the pool was enjoyed in relative peace! There was never a problem finding 4 free sunbeds next to the pool. The food was more than adequate, although tended to follow the normal patterns of mass hotel catering at times - but there was always plenty of choice and no member of my famiy were left hungry. Well worthy of the 3 star hotel rating and overall a good value for money holiday.
