We stayed at the Hotel Linda the first week in August which is supposed to be the busiest week of the year.
We did not find this. In fact we found the hotel very quiet, by the fourth night we bought a pack of cards as there was no entertainment in the hotel on any evening. The hotel itself is lovely (if a wee bit tired)and staff couldn't be more helpfull and pleasant. The food was ok, variety good, plenyfull and fresh.
Our room was clean and faced the pool so we heard little of the airport. The bathroom was in need of a re-furb and we had the same towels from day one.
My only real complaint was the lack of sockets. Only one in the room (other than the TV)away from the mirror

Second Time at the Linda - both times we had a room overlooking the end of the airport runway and weren't at all bothered by noise. When you close the balcony door you don't really hear it.

Good basic hotel catering mainly for German/Spanish - good food - both times we were there there were about 60/70 Spanish teenagers staying celebrating the finish of their compulsory education - expected sleepless nights but they were impeccably behaved, unlike many of the British staying at the Hotel Palma Nova for the past couple of years. Pool is quite small, as is the pool area - it would probably get very crowded in high season, but for an early season relaxing break it's ideal, and very reasonably priced.

This is a well-run small to medium sized 3-star tourist hotel.

The food was exceedingly good for a hotel of this type. Although it was self-service the food was replenished frequently so was always fresh. There was plenty of choice and changed every day - no repetition at all during the 7 day stay.

When we stayed the hotel was being used mostly by Spanish pensioners and the evening entertainment was geared towards them. There was an excellent dance troupe one night but otherwise it was karaoke, dancing "games" and such like. From what we saw the daytime childrens entertainment looked okay though.

The hotel's location wis great for convenience. Buses to Palma ran frequently from a nearby stop (NOT the one directly opposite the entrance which seems to be out of use). Too convenient for the airport though. We could see the airport runway from our balcony and there was considerable aircraft noise at times, depending on which direction the planes took-off. During our stay the were no night flights after midnight except on the Friday before we came home so it wasn't too bad. If you can get a room overlooking the pool rather that the airport and road you would probably be okay.

The bedroom was clean and comfortable but the bathroom was in desperate need of refurbishment.

If the hotel was given a bit of refurbishment and secondary glazing on the outward facing rooms I would definitely recommend it. As it is, it's worth considering if you can get a cheap deal and you don't mind a bit of noise.

Unfortunately (or fortunately whichever way you like to look at it !) my wife was unable to come with me, but although therefore being a single male traveller (of 62 years of age) I was fortunate enough to find that I had been allocated a double room on the second floor to myself which was comfortably furnished, and which overlooked the hotel swimming pool. A television was provided, and for a fee of 22 Euros per week I was able to avail myself of the safe deposit box provided in my room.

The hotel dining room was extremely clean and bright, and it really was a pleasure to eat one's meals here.

Breakfast was served from 8 to 10am, Lunch from 1.15 to 3pm, and Dinner was served from 7.15 to 9.30pm which really covered everybodys' requirements. The only rules regarding the dining room were that firstly gentlemen were requested to wear trousers for evening dinner, and secondly whilst you were allowed to eat all that you could, they did ask that you did not take food away from the dining room, which really is fair enough.

The food was very well prepared and presented with both varied German and English selections being provided. More importantly the selections provided were changed at every meal time, and so one never tired of eating the same old things. The food was very tasty indeed, and quite frankly the fried eggs at breakfast were better than many a fried egg I have eaten in England, and the bacon was out of this world. Evening meals were just as good - my particular favourite being the chicken portions which were delicious.

The hotel lounge was comfortable with plenty of seating provided, and the hotel bar always seemed to be open - so top marks here !

Outside there was a swimming pool and a tennis court together with a crazy golf course which was always clean and tidy, and which was well cared for.

Daytime entertainment was provided for the kids, not that I observed any staying whilst I was there as it was school term time, and during the evenings adult entertainment was laid on which included Bingo, Talent Shows, Dancing etc. all of which was very popular with the guests, although to be truthful I did not join in as I preferred to enjoy a quiet drink in the evenings.

The only let down was the room service, which unfortunately one day left folded clean sheets on the bed in my room but failed to make my bed, and the bathroom was not kept as clean and fresh as one could had hoped for, more so bearing in mind that this is a hot country. OK - I know that these are minor matters (and yes, I did make my own bed without complaining) but these are the sort of things that can, and on occasions do take the icing off the cake, but yes I do understand that the odd slip up can occur, and so I will not dwell on this.

The hotel is very centrally located for the town centre and the shops, and lies about a quarter of a mile away from the sea front. Bus stops to Palma, Arena, Valldemosa,
Manacor, Porto Cristo and the Caves of Drach are situated just outside, and although the Arenal and Palma buses are very frequent (but grossly overloaded and extremely uncomfortable), I would suggest that you check the times of the others as they are very sparse, but I did use them for day trips and they are fine as long as you have the timetable details.

There is a taxi rank just a five minute walk away in the town centre. A taxi from the Airport to the hotel ( a five minute journey) cost me 12 Euros, but going home taking a taxi from Ca'n Pastilla town centre taxi rank to Palma Airport cost 10 Euros.....you work that one out !!
Should you need car parking space the hotel has it's own private car park adjacent to the main entrance, which I would have considered had enough parking spaces for around thirty cars.

Although the hotel is very close to Palma Airport, aircraft noise wasn't really noticeable at all, as the aircraft seemed to take off on a flight path a mile or so to the west of Ca'n Pastilla, and so did not fly directly overhead.

All in all, although not a new hotel, it has been very pleasurable to have stayed there, and although we all have differing needs and requirements I came away very satisfied, and I do feel whether you are young or old, with or without kids, you will enjoy your stay at the Hotel Linda. I would mention that all the staff were polite and courteous at all times.

I would conclude by saying that should I have the opportunity to stay there again, the answer most certainly would be 'Yes please.'
