Arrived at our hotel and all the staff were friendly and polite and indeed very helpful.Beach location was excellent and the food was great plenty of choice,
Will definitely stay at this hotel again when we go back to Magaluf.Majorca beach hotel was nice location close to beach and rooms were cleaned daily basis and views were spectaculiar from balcony. When we arrived we were given a down stairs room which were ants crawling in shower room we complained straight away and was given a 4th floor room which included a bath and shower excellent and the views were fantastic.

We first visited this Hotel 4 years ago under the JMC Brand and I would have said at the time, excellent in all areas, the best family holiday ever. 2 Years later we revisited, not as good as the 1st visit, the standards wern't as high, but we liked the place and said we would go back. Just come back from the 3rd visit.

The Hotel, now not under the full control of Iberostar, but under the Thomas cook. The Hotel's a lot more run down, a lot of damage done to allowing group gangs which the Hotel did not previously allow.

The children's pools dirty, the room cleanliness not as good and the entertainment very poor. The only good point of the Hotel, was the staff who still remain.

After a couple of short delays and a long day travelling , we arrived at the Majorca Beach feeling a bit tired.

Our check in to the hotel went quite smooth to say that there was only two members of staff on the desk and nearly a full coach of holiday makers arriving . We was allocated our rooms only to find that we had one room on the tenth floor and two on the eleventh , when we finally got the lift and made our way to the rooms we found them to be very clean , tidy and very spacious with two single beds , table and chairs , a tv ( which you had to pay for at reception ) two large wardrobes ( built in ) , air conditioning and a large bathroom .

Then the moment of truth came , the balcony ( oh hell ) get the oxygen masks out , anyone who doesnt like heights stay in the room!

By this time it was getting on for two in the morning and everyone was in need of refreshments , so we made our way downstairs ( in the lift ) because nobody could do that amount of stairs ( up or down ) . When we got to reception we found that the bar shut at one oclock but there was plenty of vending machines in the reception area , even a San Miguel one ( of which many a sixty cent was spent ) We decided to finally hit the sack at around four thirty ish and get a couple of hours before breakfast which was between eight and ten .

We arrived in the dining area for breakfast only to find that you need to take your meal card with you and not just your room key .

The food was the usual spread , continental , cereal and English and was all of very high standards ( a few dodgy items though ie chicken nuggets , broccoli and chicken croquets ) having said that chicken nuggets and beans went down well with one member of our party ! Having all enjoyed the breakfast , we all hoped that the evening meal was of the same standard ? and we weren'snt let down ! with more than enough to choose from , the meats were fantastic and always cooked to perfection .

The staff around the hotel are the normal mix , some jolly and happy to help and others come across like its a big effort , the cleaners came round at the same time everyday and were always chatty and happy . Did not have very much to do with the reps , although when we came across them they were always happy and asked if we needed anything and all was ok .

The staff in the shop within the hotel could have done with a personality transplant , but they did offer a better exchange rate than the hotel ( 1.43 to the

Got allocated the Majorca beach on arrival from Newcastle-flight to Palma, had a brilliant time.

When the entertainment was anything other than the reps show it was usually good. One thing to note is the flight back to Newcastle, left palma at 5:30(Sunday) We had to vacate our room at 12 midday (Saturday) the day before. families beware.

Just returned from a great week self-catering at the Majorca Beach. With the exception of the night porter we encountered on check-in who had a generally poor demeanor, the staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Our room was really large, clean and had great views across the bay. The pool looked OK but as the beach was so close (the hotel grounds lead onto the beach itself) we didn't use it during our stay. The hotel does not as suggested have a 'private beach' - it has it's own sunbed area in it's grounds next to the beach. Although this has sand it had more than it's fair share of cigarette butts mixed in and is partly shaded due to the large trees. We preferred pay for the 2.50 euro a bed loungers on the beach, which is kept much cleaner.

The hotel is at the edge of the resort - though in comfortable walking distance of anywhere, including the neighbouring Palma Nova. We went in mid October so it was fairly quiet anyway, but in busier periods I would probably have appreciated the fact the Majorca Beach is just off the main strips.

The hotel entertainment wasn't up to a lot but a reasonable effort was made by the Thomas Cook reps - when they weren't bleating on about the customer feedback surveys and begging us to tick the 'excellent' box at every opportunity. The hotel bar was quite expensive and insisted on giving you your change in a little dish every time; presumably in the hope that you would leave a tip, which I found a little irritating - no other bars we visited did this.

All considered though, any problems were minor and I would recommend the hotel without hesitation.

Had a wonderful holiday, returned from here on Tuesday 13th September and can't wait to go back.

Our hotel room was spotless, a good size and the most beautiful view of the bay and the little island.

The reception staff were extremely friendly - however we did find that a small minority of restaurant staff were quite abrupt and standoffish this was also commented on by other hotel guests.

The rooms are cleaned everyday, with a linen and towel change every other day and the maids never stop.

I personally did not enjoy the food in the buffet style restaurant, my husband however did and speaking to other guests the reactions were 50/50 also.

From what I can gather - it is the self catering rooms that although quite large, have the small showers, our half board room had a bath with a shower of normal size.

The location is ideal it is far enough away from the strip for us as a couple aged 34 and 44, but if you are younger you only have a 10 min walk to all the main clubs on the strip and if you have children it is again 10mins to all the family orientated pubs.

There are lots of lovely little bars right facing - Pilo's being a particular favourite of ours as Tony the owner made us very welcome and his food was all freshly cooked.

The hotel supplies separate "yellow" sunbeds for the beach area, although this isn't strictly on the beach it is just two steps away. Getting a sunbed was not a problem and we did not have a problem with any 18/30's but this I think was due to going out of season.

I can't really comment on the entertainment as we did not stay in the hotel on any night, we did however hear a "Rod Stewart impersonator" warming up while we were getting ready (it did sound chronic) when we got to Pilo's bar a couple in the hotel next door asked us if we had a Karaoke night on because they could hear a man who couldn't sing, practising his Karaoke.

We had a wonderful holiday here - you can't beat this hotel for beach, bar and shop location and I hope they are not going to make it all inclusive next year because I really want to go back.

Stayed at Majorca beach for a week self catering. Hotel was of good clean standard and can't complain the price we paid for this holiday was very good value for money.

Never ate at hotel, plenty of places to eat within close proximity to hotel.

Hotel location fantastic, we had a great view of the pool and the sea/beach from our room.

Hotel staff - only really spoke when spoken to.

Entertainment provided by hotel dire. A pub quiz (without the pub), count all the sweets in the jar (without the jar), speed pool (2 elderly contestants), bingo (without the dabber), darts and who wants to be a millionaire without Chris tarrant. An interesting mix bag of so called entertainment.

Arrived late at night, good service at reception,as my wife is disabled, found steps difficult but were given a 1st floor room with plenty of space.

Must say though that we were warned about the steps before we booked and even told how many there were.We found all staff very helpful, by the end of our holiday even the chefs were passing the time of day.

Pool a little on the small side but a small private beach made up for that.Location could not have been better, front of hotel looked out on quiet shopping area, back almost straight onto beach.

All garden and pool areas have ramps. Not suitable for disabled persons with severe walking problems due to steps inside hotel.
We would visit this hotel again.

Just arrived back from holiday 20 August 2005.

ON ARRIVAL: Don't exactly know where to start - arrived at the Majorca Beach Hotel and thought it looked Ok at a first glance. However as we stepped in we felt very disappointed, as it looked shabby and very outdated. We were given the key to our room which was large and although clean looked dirty as a result of the shabby presentation of its interior i.e. mould around the bath, nasty smell, doors hanging off, a large hole in the dirty wardrobe, no furniture on the balcony except for a broken chair. This room did not live up to our expectations of a 3* plus. It didn't even have a phone.

However after complaining to the Thomas Cook rep who incidentally was unapproachable, abrupt and didn't care, we found that it was normal practice to complain and we were one of many each day.

FOOD: The food was quite good in comparison to other half board hotels and there was average selection.

SWIMMING POOL: Small, old, depth not adequately labelled in the interests of health and safety and there was no lifeguard. We spent very little time at the pool as we could never get a sun bed. The guests' queue up early in the morning and put their towels on the beds whether they want then or not. For the amount of guests staying at the hotel there are not enough beds. So for us sunbathing round the pool was not a option.

ENTERTAINMENT: The worst entertainment I have ever seen. You spend more time waiting for something to happen and therefore more time drinking the hotels very weak alcohol. Most of the entertainment done by the reps and very poor - need I say more. We spent most of our time watching the outside entertainment in Magaluf and in other hotels especially the 'Sol Antillas'. The kids club, although 'supposed' to be free had a charge for most activities therefore not free.

OVERALL: Had a great holiday in Magaluf but would never go back to the Majorca Beach which did not only fail to live up to our expectations of a 3* plus but had very little atmosphere. The only good thing about the hotel was we met a really nice family (who were also complaining at the time) and our children made great new friends.

Stayed at this hotel for 14 nights 16th Aug-30 Aug.
As a family of six, we were allocated two adjacent rooms on the second floor.

Generally the hotel was very clean and the public areas were constantly being cleaned and litter picked.

As the hotel is literally on the beach, with a small number of sun loungers on a sandy area before the beach it has a prime location.

Most of the staff were helpful, however some of the waiters in the restaurant were a little sharp and were very quick to shout at us to ask if we had enough people to sit at a table for six.

The entertainment was pitiful. Every evening followed a pattern of 30 mins childrens dancing, childrens biscuit dipping contest, a break then bingo, and then an even longer break before the main show. One evening being a Rod Stewart impersonator and another being a Karaoke version of an 80's night by the inhouse entertainment team of 3 people.

Quite a number of Kids World evening sessions were chargeable - from 5euros to 15euros depending on session.
