We have just came back from hotel Orquidea and it was superb. The staff were friendly and the reps were fantastic. Food was good and varied.

The only moan was from 7.30am people would go down to the pool and cover all the pool side sun loungers with towels and then walk away and some not coming back untill may be 10.00am all being there are signs saying not to. apart from that best holiday i have had.

We`ve just returned from a fabulous holiday in the Orquidea. We have had a fantastic time, even on the 11th floor (last room - we`re both cautious of heights but leaning over after 2 weeks!). We had a suite so air conditioning - great as we hit the heat wave! Hotel staff - excellent!!!! Food great if you try something different every night. Champagne/Bucks Fizz for breakfast lovely! the entertainment crew which was special k (kirsten) james top banana and dig daddy were the best i have seen.(especially special k)
the food was the same every week but i didnt mind cause it was nice food.
the hotel was really clean and big.
the location was good it had alot of shops round it and not far from the hotel was a few shopping places.
the staff where great they where always there.

and i would like the visit the hotel again.

We have just got back today 22/06/04 and had a great time. We always go with Thompson Super Family and this hotel is the best so far. Very clean, nice food and plenty of choice. Layout of complex good and hotel reps fantastic fun. Good entertainment during day and evening. Forget Michael Jackson, Big Daddy does a mean moonwalk
If I had to fault anything it would be the childrens club availability.Always fully booked and not really enough staff to cope. We liked the location. Slightly away from the noisier resorts, but only 1.10E (76p) to Playa De Ingles by bus which pass nearly every 10 minutes. Would definateley recommend and will be going again!.

The hotel is great as i am there now!
The staff are lovely really friendly and are always smiling. The kids absolutley loved it thay were all asleep by 2 in the afternoon so they could stay awake at night.

The food was nice and it was nice the way it was a buffet so you could have a little of what ever you wanted.

If you want to go for a walk at night or in the day it is nice to just have a walk around the shops and that us a good 30 minute walk.

The Hotel was very clean and reception staff very friendly,the pool area was also kept ver clean and the maids were fantastic never a thing out of place.

The food was not very good at all very monotonous and childrens food was awful with very sloppy potatoes and calamari!!both my son and I came back lighter than when we went! The staff in the restaurant on the whole were quite rude with one or two exceptions.There was always a que for the restaurant which closed for half an hour at 7:30 however when one particular waiter was on he often wouldn't let people in from 7:15 which did annoy quite a few people! There was another paying restaurant in grounds of hotel with limited menu however the food served here was beautiful and staff very nice there is a discount for people staying in the hotel so good value too.

The nearby beach was a quarry,the location of the hotel was good in the fact that my son could wander off to the shop alone as there wasn't really a road to cross however if you wanted a walk out on a night you could do the whole place in 5 minutes, mostly restaurants. saying that san augstin and playa D'Ingles were only a short taxi ride away costing about 4 euros.

The kids clubs were fun for the children it was just getting them in that was the problem you had to pre sign them in the day before at 12md but there was a que from 1130 and even then half the list was already full with people who couldnt get in the day before and for most of our holiday there was only one morning drop in club dissapointing when we paid so much extra for our holiday to have these facilties available, also when had a problem the Thompson's rep was not really ready to listen I heard her being quite rude to people on a few occasions she was obviously sick of the same complaints about kids club and dining room but that wasn't our fault!

car hire from orlando car hire over the road from the hotel was cheap 20 euros a day for 5 days.

The entertainment was good both day and night with the entertainment reps making our holiday, Big Daddy and top Banana absolutly tremendous!! I don't think I would come back here the hotel was lovely but the restaurant and probs with kids clubs really spoilt it for us we have done super family for the past six years and think we will be moving on !!!

We went on a thomson superfamily holiday. The room was kept very well by the maids every day. The food was varied and tasty with no restrictions and if you didn't find something you liked (not the case) you could ask for something else. Food is buffet style so you can have a bit of everything. Even the kids have their own buffet. The waiters could not do enough for you and they were all uniformed and well trained for the situation. Our only gripr was that none of the 3 pools were heated and so were extremely cold. The outlook from our 1st floor room was not as good as from the higher floors but the palm trees and easy access to the reception was worth it for us with a pushchair. Unfortunately, we were all ill for a couple of days but the staff were very helpful and went out of their way to make sure that we had as good a time as possible, even if we were stuck in our room. We sat on our balcony every night listening to the entertainment which was going down a storm at the main stage and at Coco Loco (another stage at an open bar/restaurant). You have to remeber that you are not in England, the quality may not be right up to that seen in the UK but we had absolutely no complaints about our first family holiday. Would recommend it especially if you have kids. There are clubs for all kids over 3 and they are well occupied. We took a day trip to Palmitos Park and would definitely go again. Fabulous.

stayed at the hotel orquidea in gran canaria. we stay here for 2 weeks and its the best 2 weeks holiday we have ever had, it was fantastic.

the food was very good and plentiful, just one moan there was chips every night which was fine with me but the wife would have perferred some potatos.

hotel staff were always on hand to help with any probs they were always helpful.

location was ok but only a few shop and resturants on the opposite side of the road. entertainment was excellent different every nite and loads for the kids to do in the day time. the hotel was as clean as u would expect it we had no complaints. we will be going back next year as we said it was a fantastic holiday please consider this resort.

Hotel Orquidea-Bahia Felix
We chose this hotel as it was the smallest we could find at short notice. The food was very average and although we could not fault the hotel with regards to cleanliness and facilities it did not match up to the four star quality that we expected. We did not spend much time in the hotel as we hired a car in order to see as much of the Island as possible. (We saw many 4 star hotels which appeared to be far Superior to the Orquidea.) The location was quite good as buses and taxis were readily available-we did not see any of the entertainment as we like peace and quiet on holiday and the superb view from our 10th floor room was sufficient for us

Spotless, all public areas and our room were very clean, the food is presented well and theres always plenty to choose from the only problem i found was because i dont eat meat the choose for me was limited otherwise its great for meat eaters,the area around the hotel is very quite but the brochure does state this,all the staff are polite and very helpful and as for the entertainment team well they are FAB and Big Daddy is a hit with everyone !!!!! Would we go back ?YES we are going back this August and it will be our 4th time .
