I had read several reports on this hotel prior to our visit and was hopeful that it would meet our high expectations.

I am pleased to say the hotel itself most definitely did,it is immaculate and very well maintained.

We stayed at the Tenerife section which was the one we opted for when booking, in hindsight this was definitely the right choice as the Adeje section seemed very busy, lots of hustle and bustle and most importantly, lots of children. We had hoped that travelling so far outwith the school holidays would mean there wouldn't be many children there but unfortunately we were wrong.

The pool area was excellent, although the hotel rules stated no sunbeds were to be reserved this was ignored but we were still able to get beds in a decent area despite this.

It wasnt until a few days into our holiday that we realised that one of the pools was actually heated which was a welcome change to the ice cold one I had been shying away from.

The pool bar food is a bit bland really but it does the job if you just fancy a quick bite.

The rooms were really spacious and well maintained and the maid service was excellent. CNN and Sky News did get a bit tedious after a while though, its a pity there werent any more British Channels.

Moving on to the restaurants, I am quite a fussy eater generally and tend to stick to vegetarian options wherever possible. Having been all inclusive in Mexico last year in a 5 star hotel and had endless options available, I expected something along the same lines here.

Sadly this wasn't to be. Vegetarian choices are very limited, mainly to salads and pasta. On occasion there were other vegetables available but in the first few days of our stay these were kept barely luke warm and I tend to like my food hot at least.

My husband enjoyed the food most nights but he also did not enjoy eating cold food.

Also the restaurant could be very busy, we went at all different times to try and see if the food would be any hotter but quite often if we were later there would be no tables made up and it looked as though we were inconveniencing the staff by showing up at 9pm (even though it was open until 10.30pm)

On the 4th night of our stay the hotel manager was giving out questionnaires in the restaurant and I can only think that the biggest comment on these must have been the food temperature as the next night the food was very hot indeed which was a welcome change.

The only a la carte restaurant we visited was the Italian as none of the others offered any vegetarian dishes. This was a nice change and the freshly prepared pasta was the nicest I have tasted.

One major thing I feel should be mentioned about this hotel, the area in which the entertainment is staged, Pueblo Principe, you are not able to get all inclusive drinks at the bar.

You have to go inside and down the stairs into the hotel bar then carry your drinks back up and over into the square. However, if you wish you can purchase drinks here if you want. Now when you are on an all inclusive holiday you expect to be able to drink whilst watching the nightly entertainment and lets face it, the entertainment here was so poor you needed a drink just to endure it!
This is something we have complained about to the holiday company.

Overall, we would definitely recommend this hotel and would go there again without a doubt but only for one week, two weeks would be a bit boring really, it was very relaxing and was the kind of holiday we had hoped for we just hope the entertainment has improved by the next time we visit.

I booked this hotel on the basis of the previous reviews on this site as it sounded fab. Ive just returned and can now agree with the majority of them.

It is a Fantastic hotel. We ended up staying in the tenerife section. I was a bit disappointed by this as I had read that the adeje section was the busiest but it turned out to be best as we had the benefit of the peacefulness at our hotel and if we wanted it, we could wander down to the adeje for some entertainment and poolside games etc. The tenerife section rooms were lovely, we had a junior suite for 2 adults, 2 children and a baby and still had plenty of room.

The tiles at the adeje poolside are really slippy when wet, whereas the tenerife being built after it seemed to have rectified the flooring and have laid little stone tiles which are pretty anti slip. Because of this reason we spent most days by the pool of the tenerife section assuring the safety of our little ones who seemed to want to run everywhere.

The mini club staff were great, my 8 and 6 year old loved it twice a day every day of our holiday. They did t-shirt paining, mini golf, themed days and face paining and the staff picked them up from the tenerife section and delivered them safely back to us - fantastic.

The main restaraunt food is great with a wide selection to suit every taste. We tried the Mexican and Italian and to be honest they were OK but I wouldnt rave about them.

The general guidance is you have to book for them as soon as you get there or you wont get a place and they dictate the time to you. Dont be too disappointed if you dont get a place.

We had a pushchair with us and had no problem getting around. There are a few sections of the hotel with stairs however there is always a slope even though it may take a bit longer. (may be different with a wheel chair though)
My husband and our friends wandered to a little pub called rythmn and booze which is in the nearby town. It showed round the clock football for you blokes who need your football fix when on holiday!!!

Taxi transfer from the airport to the hotel is around 25 Euros and apart from the wander into the nearby village (if you could even call it that) we stayed in the hotel the whole time.

No one I spoke to whilst on holiday at this hotel had a bad word to say about the place, yes the entertainment was a bit naff but there were 3 proffessional shows in the time we were there and they were fine.

I will be booking up to go next year and would really recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an all-inclusive hotel with a relaxing atmosphere and plenty to keep the kids amused.

This was our third time here,(see previous review in July)& we were not disappointed. Again we e-mailed the hotel before we left and got the room of our choice, also complimentary bubbly & chocolates on arrival.

I don't know if this was because we were repeat guests but we got hot towels every night too with more chocolates & also t-shirts.

The rules seem to have been relaxed regarding the a la carte restaurants, you can eat at any three per week. They are all excellent. Would also recommend the italian restaurant for breakfast, the omelettes are delicious.
Our daughter loved the kids club, twice daily & she also took part in various shows.

The entertainments staff are excellent with the kids. Evening entertainment is not everyones cup of tea but the kids love it & after a few sangrias who cares!!!

The staff are more than helpful in all respects.
Only downside is the location as its in the middle of nowhere, however this suits us as we never have any need to go outside the hotel. The small manmade beach has been improved since our last vist although we didnt use it.

We booked again for July as soon as we got back, what better recommendation could you have than that?

Hotel amazing food top class, staff great.

Will definitely go back.

The main buffet restaurant you need to use its 4 time a week its ok but just like a 4* standard HB restaurant, but you get 3 vouchers to use every week at the special restaurant like Asia mmmmmmmm the roast duck yummy, the Italian portinfino the carbonara and macaroni and cheese yummy and the Mexican great too.

Never made it 2 the Spanish one, or fish restaurant but cool always next time.

The tables beside the bar full with champagne and vodka etc to save time from going and standing at the bar saves time and the entertainment total crap it has to be said..
the snack bar at the pool the menu was toasties, jamacian chicken, hot dogs, cheese burgers, chicken nuggets.

The drinks at the snack bar where 4 slush puppy machines for the kids, beer red wine sangria all self service saves time again when you order your snack they give you a slip with your order number on it, snacks are ready in 2 mins.

The hotel is a bit out of the road but when you have been out drinking on holiday you always get taxi home most times.

So your just paying for a taxi to head out in my opinion most times 14 euros each way about a tenner.

Would I go back definitely only had dinner in hotel 7 nights, went out for dinner seven times to break it up cause if I did not it would feel like ground hogg day, plus you need to go out cause there is nothing to do after 11 or 11.30 pm, but great for a mega quiet holiday if you go to bed at 11,ps would definitely go back

The complex consists of two hotels: the Bahia Tenerife is higher up the hill and the Costa Adeje (CA) forms a crescent between the Tenerife and the coast. The whole complex is on a hillside with a gradient of about 1 in 10. There are ramps everywhere so it is possible for less able people to get around. We're reasonably fit and it took us about 7 minutes to walk from one end of the complex to the other. The place is certainly big!

The Bahia Tenerife is considered as slightly more posh but everybody has access to both sections. The only obvious restriction was that the all inclusive dining rooms of each hotel were exclusive to each set of guests. There are five additional specialist restaurants from which three can be selected per week. These restaurants are shared between the hotels and caused the guests of each hotel to mix together.

To be honest, after a few days, we found that we preferred the public areas of the Costa Adeje to those of the Tenerife. The CA has two excellent pools, both are lagoon style and the lower one is very quiet and has an infinity aspect overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and La Gomera. It's about 75 metres long. If you want the action, choose the other one. If you want peace, choose the infinity pool.

In the Tenerife there is just one pool and it feels rather cramped. In our opinion, it is rather overlooked by the seven floors of hotel rooms and is far less attractive.

There are plenty of sunbeds, even in the middle of August. Umbrellas are more of an issue. We used to reserve two at about 8am and never had a problem. There's a good chance that you would be equally successful if you went down at 9.30am.

The food is something quite special. We stayed all inclusive in Cyprus last year and thought that it would be hard to beat. The CA beats it hands down. The dining room has the usual buffet arrangement and tends to cycle each week. Where the hotel scores is the fact that there are five additional restaurants to choose from. We ate in the Mexican, the Italian and the Spanish. We found the quality of food and the service to be worst in the Mexican and best in the Spanish. At the end of the day, it's a matter of taste and expectation. All are of a high standard. All places to eat will offer a choice of red, white or Rose house wine (or beer, water, coke, fanta, etc) as part of the all inclusive package. If you want something else you have to pay for it. In addition, the bars will offer the same plus local spirits. In the evening, we would have a G and T at the bar and then drink the house wine during dinner. The measures were very generous and we had no complaints.

The entertainment was adequate. We didn't feel that the animation team went out of their way to encourage participation in the daily activities. As a consequence, the kids club wasn't attractive enough to encourage our son to participate. The same was true for us in the seniors club. The evening entertainment was so-so. The live music by the bar was of reasonable standard: the groups covering popular music weren't great, the five piece big band was much better. We went to the live entertainment in the central square (also part of the complex) on a couple of occasions. To be honest, starting at 10pm made it a little late for our son so we only saw a couple of the acts - the fashion show is a must for the dads!

The rooms are excellent. They are well fitted and modern. The bathrooms have dual sinks and an interesting saloon bar style door to the toilet. All rooms have sat tv with a reasonable mix of channels (hope you like Sky News!) and a stocked mini bar all included in the price. You have to pay for the use of the in room safe. That's a little mean in our opinion.

The bedrooms and the public areas are extremely well maintained. The CA was built four years ago. It looks like it was built last year. There is an army of cleaners working all day and gardeners are constantly tending to the extensive gardens within the resort. They even had painters painting parts of the outside while we were there.

If you get bored with the pools, there is a little beach with imported sahara sand and free unbrellas and loungers for the hotel guests. Swimming is possible but it is a little rocky.

I got a pretty accurate picture of this hotel from this site and would agree with much of the previous information.

I stayed in the Adeje and I think this hotel is better for the children with more facilities although the mini golf is at the Tenerife.

Having two children in push -chairs we found it difficult to get around the hotel for instance we had to use two different lifts with some distance between them just to get to the restaurant.

I know that people with mobility difficulties will not be impressed by the layout of the hotel. The food was fine and the a la carte restaurants were a nice change with good quality food.

The hotel staff were as you would expect a mixed bunch, some very happy and polite and others the complete opposite,if you can get a smile from the lady who cooks the omlettes in the morning at the Portafino restaurant you have done well.

The most important thing I have to add is about hotel security.I did not hire the safety deposit box on arrival and forgot about it as we got into the holiday mood .

Unfortunately our digital camera was stolen from the room, the hotel staff were not really interested at first but eventually a lady from relations took us to the local police station where a report was made via her Interpreting to a very uninterested police officer. So even though you have to pay for the safe, get it on arrival.

Hotel is fantastic, just as we imagined, extremeley clean in all areas, beautiful surroundings around the hotel very picturesque.

Hotel is not designed for pushchairs or disabled people, as in a previous review we had to take the lifts on different floors to get onto a straight level. All inclusive a great idea, the mini bar is stocked up on a daily basis, the snack bar at the pool ok, all the beer, spirits & soft drinks plenty of, only until 11pm on the dot, (only local beers & spirits). Entertainment needs sorting, not very good at all.

Towels for the pool a great idea, not a problem with sunbeds or umbrellas. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere, in the brochure it says it's in Costa Adeje its not it's in Playa Paraiso, which is also a distance away when you have got 2 pushchairs and a father who has a walking stick.

To go to Costa Adeje, Playa Las Americas, Torviscas etc they are all a taxi ride away approx 13 euros to all. The themed restaurants are a good idea, the Chinese was the better followed by the Mexican then the spanish then the Italian, we didn't try the Fish restaurant, the main restaurant is a typical spanish holiday restaurant, edible.

Would we all go back to this hotel? Yes we would for a relaxing holiday, if you do not wish to go out anywhere.

The hotel was very nice and the staff were really friendly and helpful and spoke perfect english.

The hotel room was very clean and the mini bar was topped up every day.

The food was brillant with a wide selection for everyone with a carvey every day.

The location was terrible and there was nothing around the hotel with no bars or restaurants.

The entertainment was a bit rubbish, well not if you like musicals every night.

The hotel was beautiful set in lovely gardens with two nice pools with plenty of sunbeds. Even though the hotel was lovely we would not return again.

On arrival at the reception of the Bahia Principe Costa Adeje, after a very swift taxi transfer, we were told that we were staying in the Tenerife part, as we had booked a junior suite. A golf cart arrived for us and we were taken to the Tenerife, which is just across the road.

From the moment we arrived we were very pleased with our choice of hotel, it was superbly clean, the staff were very efficient, such as the bellboys taking and collecting your luggage from the room.

The food was brilliant and the drinks lovely and cold, what more can you ask for.

The Tenerife part is much quieter than the Costa Adeje part, but we liked this.

Yes, the location is poor, but then you know that when you book it, the complex it large enough for a good walk, and you can stretch your legs by walking into Playa Paraiso.

This was our second visit & we will be returning again in two weeks.

Well worth emailing before arrival if you want to stay in a particular part of the hotel. We also had complimentary bubbly on arrival. Rooms are clean & spacious, air con, mini bar, towels changed daily & linen every other.

Food is excellent whether in the main buffet or the a la cartes. Would recommend the salmon in the fish restaurant! Rose is the best wine, the others leave a lot to be desired!

Plenty for kids, their own pool, twice daily mini club, mini disco nightly. Evening entertainment not everyones cup of tea but the kids loved it.

Extremely helpful staff, nothing too much trouble. They were great with the kids.

If you are going here you will love it!!!!
