What a place! From the immaculate and friendly reception to the poolside toilets!! We were in 2 suites and greatly impressed with the whole accomodation we had two toilets - one in a big bathroom with a shower cubicle.

The balcony was huge and very private. We had a fantastic sea view overlooking a banana plantation. Oh so peaceful and relaxing. The design and planning of this hotel is exceptional. From stepping out of the lift to go to our suites, we noticed different things each time.

The walkways are open air in places which helps to keep the aiflow fresh. There are lovely scenic areas inside with fountains and foliage displays - absolutely stunning!

The cleaning staff work tirelessly to keep all in order and it certainly shows.

The food is second to none with a fabulous choice every meal time. The chefs do a fantastic job ensuring that everything is perfect, constantly checking supplies and temperatures. They also do a fantastic job on the presentation and decoration. They stand at the griddle cooking your choice of meat to your liking and the steaks are to die for!!!

The poolside is like nothing I've ever seen. The infinity pool was fabulous and the other pool on the lower level is protected from the wind by a perspex fence. The massive poolside terraces are also kept immaculate. There are plenty of bins and ashtrays around and almost everyone used them. The views from here are stunning.

All the staff were all extremely hard working and very friendly. The bar manger even presented me with a flower he'd made from a napkin one night!

Now the entertainment. I've given this a 4* simply because of the efforts of the animation team. We made really good friends with them all and they worked their socks off to provide daily activities like archery, shuffle board, darts and salsa dancing lessons to name just a few. On top of that, they provided the entertainment each evening. The main problem was with this being an international hotel, and the majority of the guests being German and Spanish, it did feel like the English weren't catered for. But in fairness to the team, they had to go with the majority and we just joined in the games etc. and had a great time.

It's a case of go with the flow and the team will do their best for you though I understand the programme is being looked at. The major downside was the 'entertainment' in the lounge!! I won't pass a comment on this as I made a point of getting past this as quickly as possible. Suffice to say it wasn't my cup of tea.

There was a bit of repair work going on which did cause a minimal amount of disruption but better to see that the repairs are done than have this beautiful place neglected.
The hotel shops were very nice and not as pricey as I'd expected.

The only downside is that the All Inclusive is very restricted and the snack bar is only open at the same time as the lunches are served. There is afternoon tea till around 16.30 then the first dinner sitting is at 18.30 but nothing to eat after the main restaurant closes at 21.30. I missed my suppers so had to buy a stash of crisps just in case I got hungry.

We used the free bus to Las Americas 3 times and encountered no problems. The bus timetables to other towns and villages can be picked up at reception.

The location suited us as we were looking for a chill out place and we certainly found it here! It isn't exactly perfect as it's a 10 minute walk to the resort past a sewage works which can be pretty overpowering but you're past it in a few seconds. And the steep hill can be hard in the hotter days.

The Dunas Parisio is absolutely out of this world. The reception area is immaculate and gives an excellent first impression. The bar areas inside the hotel and around the pool are gorgeous too. Exceptionally clean!

The hotel food is amazing too in the restaurant there is even a BBQ style grill serving fresh fish and meats. The choice is extensive and it successfully caters for all tastes. Gorgeous!!

The location is not fab if you want to travel but car rental is reasonable and it gives you the freedom to explore the island. From the airport a taxi will set you back about 30euros which is very good. And a taxi into Las Americas will cost about 15euros. 10euros to the water park.

The food is sooo good you will want to eat in the hotel, its just as good if not better than eating out in Las Americas!

We found the staff extremely helpful and very efficient. We had a problem with the key card for our safe and after gong to reception the maintainence men came in under 10 mins!

The only problem was the language barrier this is primarily a German, Spanish speaking hotel but all staff made the effort to speak English.

We did not go to much of the entertainment nights but the ones we went to were ok. It was nice just to sit round the pool bar drinking and playing cards into the night.

All in all we would definitely visit this hotel again it was out of this world!!!

Just returned from a week in the Dunas it was excellent. One of the best holidays ever, food, accomadation, pools, drinks all great.

We are a family of 5 including a teenager, we stayed in a 2 bedroom villa which was fantastic. We were lucky enough to have a villa at the back on the corner with the best view over the ocean and out to La Gomera. There were 2 full sized bathrooms and i mean full size, separate shower cubicle in both and all mod cons.

There were 4 full sun loungers and a table and chairs on the balcony and another small balcony off the other bed room. To wake up in the morning sit up and see the ocean for miles was amazing.

The restaurant was excellent, I was a lttle wary from other reviews I had read, but there was not one complaint food always hot large choice and never the same 2 days running on main course.

The chef cooked fresh meat and fish in front of you this was a bonus, the children always had a full plate and not just chips!

The desserts were great, and the self serve drinks very good. Left a little to our own discoveries at the beginning regarding pool towels and food etc, so ask lots of questions on arrival, by the time we met the rep late next day we had managed to find most things out.

The hotel is used alot by germans so you can imagine the sunbed situation by the pool with towels. My only gripe about pool area is the lack of umbrellas, other than that it was spotless and the bottom pool warm unlike previous reviews kids loved it.

We met some lovely people so hi to you if your reading this we all said we would put a review up. I feel some people were being snobby in prevous reviews and not realistic.

The hotel was not complete but this in no way spoilt anything, you can see when the open air sea view resteraunt is complete it will be excellent to sit out there.

The pool bar was great never big que really, if you wanted just water or juice you just went to bar and poured no que this was ideal for the kids, the beer and wine were lovely.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone, entertainment was a bit lacking but hey make your own fun your on holiday!

Little ones will enjoy the mini disco in the underground club, hence there is no noise to upset those who do not like disco or the shows they can sit in upstairs bar undisturbed.

I give this hotel top marks.

On arrival we found the receptionist and baggage porter very helpful.

Our room, which fronted the hotel, was clean but only small there were no tea making facilities or hair dryers something one expects with four star accommodation.

The All Inclusive deal is marred by the beer which I consider very poor, also I have never tasted coffee quite as bad as that served in the hotel, but on a plus side the food served in the restaurant was a very high standard {being a class 2 diabetic there was a good choice of suitable food.] The service by staff showing you to a clean table was courteous and prompt. There is another open air restaurant being built on the complex to add more choice.

The pool area is very impressive and its upkeep is seen with attendants cleaning and polishing the fitments but beware the water is very cold.

Although the front pathways are still under construction this is of minimal nuisance.

People with walking difficulties should take into consideration the steep hill of 300yds plus, which has to be climbed if you want to explore outside

When we arrived we were not happy with the room and it took 3 visits to reception and 2 days to get a change. If you are going as for a room in block A or B with a pool view.

Only other problem was the pool that is supposed to be heated is still not and reception staff could not say when it will be fixed.

Apart from these problems everthing else was fine. Food was excellent with great variety. Various meats and fish were cooked in front of you there were no queues, wine, beer and soft drinks were available on tap. Snacks (hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, toasties and freshly made crepes) were served at the pool bar all afternoon with cakes and pastries available from 3.30pm until 4.30pm

The hotel was spotlessly clean inside and out. The rooms were the biggest I've ever seen. The Junior suite has 2 separate toilets one being the en-suite from the bedroom, there is a separate living area with sofa bed and a huge balcony.

Entertainment leaves much to be desired but there were a couple of professional shows that were watchable.

Playa Paraiso town is not worth visiting it's about a 10 min walk from the hotel. I don't know how it gets its name (paradise beach) as there is no beach

I would visit this hotel again but not in winter unless the pool was heated.

We found this to be a very enjoyable holiday. The room which had a sea view was excellent with lots of space and cleaned without fault. The location of the hotel is poor, as it feels as if you are surrounded by a building site. This is not a problem if you do not intend to venture out. Not so good if the weather is bad.

Pool and poolside is lovely although water is freezing. We could have done without the entertainment teams noise and dancing throughout the day.

The food is varied , hot and queues were minimal.Very goog service on an excellent range of drinks.

Entertainment improved a little over the week and the children loved the mini disco every night. The staff who entertain the children are fabulous.

Would go back for a winter relaxation break but would hesitate over the summer unless the other restaurants were open.

The hotel should be impressive when finished. There is still a lot of work going on e.g. finishing the outdoor restaurant, laying extensive walkways and pavements, finishing the children

This hotel is difficult to find fault with. It is huge, attractive, and well thought out. Most rooms are junior suites offering a living room, separate bedroon with en-suite bathroom, bath and separate shower, and there is a second loo off of the living room. All have fridge and microwave, and tele. Plus the balcony is private and big.

The food was quite acceptable - plenty of salad choices, reasonable hot meal choice, not such a choice of sweet.

When we checked in we were told the pool would be heated from 'tomorrow' - it wasn't. Freezing is an understatement ! Perhaps they'll cute that problem eventually.

Only real negative is the location. If you like to walk from your hotel and explore, you simply can't here. There is nowhere to go. A courtesy bus to Las Americas is available everyday - but whats the point of all inclusive if you are out all day !

The kids playground is great, however the safety mats need atttention.

We see problems in the high season with queueing for drinks from the pool bar, the only one open by day. No problem in February as the hotel was quiet.

Wouldn't go back simply because of the location, but probably would try another Dunas Hotel.

On arrival at the hotel, found reception and porter staff very welcoming. No problems booking in. Room was in A block with sea view (unfortunately no sun till later in day, should be ok in summer)Room was spotlessly clean, well equiped and very spacious. Maid service was first class.

Hotel is very spacious, both inside and out. With building works still to be completed, although these are minor and did not interfere with our holiday (never saw or heard the generator from previous reviews).

The heated pool is still cold. But pool area very clean and well tended.

Food - Restaurant, very clean and staff are helpful, however, the hot food whilst acceptable, is often tepid, and queues normal, drinks are self service. At the moment it is a place to eat, rather than a place to sit and enjoy a meal. We would prefer at least waiter service with the drinks. On the positive side the restaurant organisation was improving towards the latter part of our holiday.

Pool bar - drinks are normally served at a rush, with only one or two staff members in attendance. Drinks served in plastic beakers, (obviously for safety which is understandable. Nevertheless, no effort or thought is given to the presentation, e.g. the free cocktails come out of a machine with a straw. Not exactly exciting to look at. Coke is normally half to 3 quarters of a beaker, which is probably the machine settings. Beer similar, although pulled by hand. Tasted ok, no problems there.

Food at pool bar, mostly hamburhers and hotdogs, chips and salad which we found ok, with exception to the chips, they do not know how to keep them hot.

Entertainment - two piece group, singing every night. which we enjoyed, but not to everyones taste. There is a disco, in another part of the hotel, didnt go but we never heard it either, (which is definetlye on the plus side, although in the same block where our room was located).

We were looking for somewhere quiet and relaxing with all inclusive facilities without the need to wander round the normal bars and noisy places, parked on the hotels doorstep. Therefore, the location was ideal for us.

The free bus service to las americas was there for anyone who wished to visit or shop.
We would go back to this hotel, when all facilities are completed, especially the restaurants. Although there were a number of children at this hotel, it did not interfere with our relaxation and the animacion team we believe worked very hard to keep them occupied.

Its early days yet for this hotel complex, but we are sure that things will improve. Ask me if I would go back tomorrow, yes, if the food improved.

The hotel was very clean, always a good start, and the room was large and well-appointed.

The food was acceptable but not of a particularly high standard. For some reason the vegetables were not just luke-warm, they were sometimes frozen to the serving plate! I actually liked the self-service drinks system in the restaurant, and found the staff there to be the nicest in the hotel.

The location of the hotel is not its strong point. You can walk to a little row of shops nearby, but cabin-fever could set in after a few days. Yes, the bus does take you to Playa de las Americas nearby but not in the evenings, when we had to get a taxi.

The reception staff were the rudest I have ever encountered in Spain. My husband and friend were told it was 'forbidden' to play tennis after six o'clock, even though it was still light, and they had played the day before at the same time. At the desk you were routinely ignored whilst they tapped on their keyboards and answered the telephone.

The entertainment was poor. Bingo every night! Need I say more?

I don't think I would visit this hotel or resort again. It was not exactly cheap (half-term week) and I would go to Los Christianos instead, where there is a bit of life!!
