Very nice beaches and great views. I visted loro parque which was great. Nice place would not hesitate to visit again

We were struck by how clean Peurto De La Cruz is kept, casts shame on the majority of British streets!
This is a superb resort with a friendly atmosphere and a huge variety of good places to eat. It also manages to retain a Spanish feel to it, unlike the sprawling concrete of the Southern resorts, and is located in an area of lush green countryside with superb views of Mt Tiede.
Loro Park is a must see, as is a tour to Mount Tiede - fantastic forests followed by a lunar landscape!
Beaches are black sand, clean and well sheltered, the best being to the Eastern end of the resort.
If you love a bit of winter sun, with plenty to do without the loud element, this is the place for you!

Eating out. Try El Limon, a vegetarian restaurant in the centre of town, behind the main church. The food is excellent!
There are many good restaurants in Puerto de al Cruz, especially the old part of town. Better still, try the restaurants in the outlying villages.
Puerto de la Cruz is an old colonial town with many interesting old buildings. It is a place where local people actually live.
Tenerife is a duty free island. Local shops in Puerto de la Cruz are good for perfume, alcohol, electronic goods and cameras. Do not buy on the plane or at the airport. Local shops offer a wider choice and are cheaper.

This resort is fantastic, the christmas lights are superb and the choirs and village musicians are a joy to watch and listen to in the main square. Do not miss the night of the
three kings parade.
There are numerous walks with pleasant scenery.

I just had a feeling of steping back in time. This resort is quiet but then people seemed to have more time to talk. I have been before and will go again, it seems to have a friendly atmosphere where you can just unwind and chill out.

Puerto De La Cruz is a lovely place to have a holiday, we were there 18 years ago and everything had changed and for the better we thought.
Entertaiment in the resort is mainly hotel based we thought. With plenty of bars to have a drink.
The beach is blackand does not look very nice to sit on.
Yes we will be back to this resort we had a great hoilday.

The Lido is closed for repair, the notices do not say how long, but is well worth as visit when it re-opens as the beaches are Black Sand.
I am told Tenerife has been quiet all summer this year. Dont expect a young lively resort here. Just time to shop and spend time chatting in bars and relax and chill out.
I just hope it stays the way it is, may not be for everyone. Clean resort, didnt notice Time share touts. Looky looky men and women present but not pushy in the main areas only. Lot of small shops to look around for an hour or two
Be prepared for a long transfer (90 mins if from TFS airport). Loro Park is on the door step, but Buses are good and you can always hire a car if you want to explore.
Often get clouds, but helps to make it cooler and greener, still can get a sun tan or travel to the sun on a day out.
Ask the tour reps for the best bars, there are a handful of Britsh ones to try and find one or two you like.

Not many English pubs here, but what a nice change. Lots of really good Tapas bars serving excellent food. Would strongly recommend a vist to the `Arcon` Tapas bar. Nice harbour area and lots of small streets to explore. Don't miss Loro Park well worth €22.
