Hotel was very nice.

The staff were very good. However, when outside entertainment came they did not explain anything in English all in Spanish so did not know what was going on.

A lot of Spanish holidaymakers, kids club, all Spanish kids.

My sister and I went here as allocation on arrival.... we were disappointed as we had requested to be in benidorm.

Albir itself was a quiet village with supermarkets, restaurants and a few shops. Buses were very good outside hotel every half hour and it takes 15 minutes by bus into benidorm. We went in most nights to bendidorm but sometimes we went in twice a day if we went to beach earlier in day.(lavante beach was lovely).

We tried food in hotel one night it was ok. Most mornings we paid for our breakfast in hotel, which was very nice.

Rooms were very clean, but cleaners came when we least expected (one day after another), then not til we left.

Pool area was clean with plenty of sunbeds and a lifeguard.

Staff were friendly and helpful.

We had stayed in the F block also and had arrived late in the evening (not well light up area). We were on 3rd floor, with no lifts. It was a bigger complex than expected.

We would both come back to Benidorm, as long as the hotel/appartment were more central.

We found that the Albir Gardens was a good complex with very good pools and attractive gardens. Plenty of sunbeds so no need for people to leave towels on them (although this did not deter some people). Reception staff were very friendly, courtious and helpfull.

The apartment was clean but in need of updating. The oven was very used and the fridge wasn't that good. The freezer compartment was frozen up which was never resolved, even after being reported, and the milk went off after a day or so. Cleaning was irregular - once in the first week then nearly every day in the second.

Would go again if it was updated.

I stayed at this for 2 weeks in August 2005 with my Husband and our 2 children aged 10 and 8. The location of this hotel is fantastic.

The village of albir is lovely plenty of bars and restaurants and a few nik nak shops. The beach is pebbley but well worth a visit (even it is just to use the pedalos there) 10 euros for an hour fab.

The hotel itself was packed and around the pool was so cramped with sunbeds it got a bit overpowering. The pools themselves were brill we couldn't get the kids out. There is a lifeguard on duty which is a nice suprise but be warned no inflatables are allowed in the pool for safety reasons a bit of a bore I know.

We went self catering the apartment itself was big enough.
When we arrived the frezzer was frosted up, 2 men turned up to deal with the problem they took the fridge into the bathroom and put the hot shower on it until it defrosted strange I know. Supposedly your room gets cleaned twice a week, towels changed twice and sheets once. However it didnt even seem to be cleaned, the sheets were changed at the end of the first week only. Towels were changed twice in the two weeks.

The hotel were helpful I asked for 2 extra pillows I got them that night, I asked for some more towels as they took 8 away but only left 6 and they bought them up that night.

The entertainment in the day around the pool at and night was appalling really appalling. Can't say more than that really. Around the pool aswell doesnt seem to be that clean.

There is no aircon in the room and it can get really hot so you have to sleep with your windows open but don't try this until after 12am as this is when the hotel entertainment stops.

We hired a fan for the first week but it cost 18 euros a week. Just up the road you can by them for that price so if your going for 2 weeks buy one dont hire one.

The bus stop just outside the hotel is brill 90 cents whereever you go. The dubliner/regent outside the hotel is brill lovely food.

We went on 2 trips one to terra natura which was fab definetly go there and to the medieval night just up the road to the hotel.

We had a brill holiday but wouldn't go there again. But if your going you will have a good time.

We arrived at the hotel at a reasonable time and the check in procedure was very quick and efficient. There was a pretty long hike to our accomodation with all of our suitcases.

The rooms were very basic although clean, but lacked the very much needed air conditioning. The maid service wasn'nt any where near what I was expecting. We only had towels changed once in the week and the sweeping up was pushed under the sofa bed.

There was no microwave although this did'nt bother us as we always eat out.

I must say that the pool area was fantastic. Two splash pools for the very little ones, a shallow pool for the kids and a deep pool going down to nearly three metres.

The life guards were'nt up to much. They spent most of their time in the pool side bars or chatting up the young girls on holiday. So I would'nt suggest relying on them looking out for your kids.

There was an extreme bias towards the large quantitiy of spanish guests. If I threw my lad through the air in the pool , I received a sharp blast on the whistle. Although the spanish parents were able to perpetrate acrobatic stunts with their offspring without comment.

Dont buy large rubber rings from the nearby shops as you are not allowed to take them into the pool. A nine euro mistake my daughter made.

The strangest thing I found was that each day the spaniards had a water vollyball competition in the kiddies pool.

Fat middle aged spaniards diving in and around five and six year olds was'nt exactly safe and errant shots twice came close to hitting babys in their prams around the pool.

The entertainment manager greeted us on the first morning, never to be seen for the rest of the week. Every day the entertainment staff walked round drumming up people to participate in competitions but only in spanish so the winners certificates at the kiddies disco only ever went to the spanish as none of the English guests had any idea what was going on.

All of the entertainment was in Spanish, so we did'nt bother hanging around for it.

On Monday afternoon some English diving instructors give children scuba lessons in the pool. It was only 25 euros per child and they get half an hour under water with a couple of underwater photo's as well. The kids loved it (7 and 13 years) and it was great value for money.

Glad to be going home when we did, as a stag party of ten lads turned up on our last night in our block. They caused the expected noise at four thirty in the morning.

We have just spent two weeks at the Albir Gardens and can honestly say we had a great holiday.

We were allocated a room in block F which is the furthest block away from all the action but also the quietest block which was nice. The rooms are rather small, ok for a family but would be a squeeze for 4 adults. There was no air-con but as we were on the second floor it wasn't a problem as we slept with the windows open and just the shutters closed.

The pool was great, 2 lifeguards on duty all day and no lilos allowed in the pool which was a good idea.

The hotel was packed in the first week because the Spanish have their hols in August.

Apparently some of the apartments are timeshare and these were all around the pool area.

The hotel grounds were kept very clean, the bins were emptied 2 or 3 times a day.

There is a bar by the pool and a snack bar which were open till about 6pm. Food was ok. We were self catering but never used the restaurant, having said that the food did look good and the restaurant was always packed. The bar inside was fine and the staff quite friendly especially stephen.

Albir is a lovely town with lots of good restaurants. Do try the American Diner-the portions are HUGE and the ribs are gorgeous. Try"Its a small world" near the beach-more gorgeous food. There is also a great steak house on the beach front.

The beach itself is lovely, small pebbles instead of sand. You can do all the usual water things eg pedalos etc.

Take the number 10 bus to Altea, another nice town about 10 minutes away. There is a beautiful church and square at the top of the hill-well worth the walk up 200 steps or so!We went to Aqualandia which was brilliant even though our 7 year old son wasn't allowed on the big slides. There were plenty of other pools and slides he could go on. We also went to Terra Mittica which was very impressive. We all had a great day, luckily it was a bit cloudy on the day we went so it wasn't too hot. We arrived at 10.30 and stayed till 7pm but it was open till midnight.

We got the bus to Benidorm one day but wasn't at all impressed. If you want British bars and food it's great but all the shops are the same and it was packed, the beaches are golden sand but so packed you couldn't swing a cat.

All in all we had a great holiday and would certainly return to Albir Gardens but perhaps nearer the end of August when it was a bit quieter.

Booked a last minute here and was pleasantly surprised.

Room clean and towels changed daily and sheets once. Food excellent but basic, but no problems with upset stomach etc.

Staff very helpful, patient and some even had a sense of humour! Evening entertainment could be very loud, starting with good old bingo! All stopped at midnight promptly.

Complex is such, that quite a few apartments were away from the noisy area. Rep. was very nice and available most days. Asked for and got extra pillows.

All amenities fairly close by, 20min. walk to beach or a frequent bus service. Half hour service into Benidorm itself. Pool area clean and busy. Plenty of sun beds but no mattress, take towels with you, none to hire! We had air con. in room so could shut windows to keep out noise.

Very much a family complex. Mixture of nationalities and ages but not a great deal for teenagers in resort. The hotel/apartments were a bit tired looking but were kept clean by an army of staff.

Resort small and quiet and no 'touts' approached us!
Would go back again.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel with a group of friends and their children in June 05.

The hotel, pool area, rooms, bar and reception was wonderful. Our friend had stayed here before and suggested we all return.

The location is great as you have a short walk to Albir or a 10 minute taxi ride to Benidorm. We would definitely stay here again in the future.

Back last week from another stay at Albir Gardens
getting to know the staff and the area very well now. Tip the bar waiter first time (Pablo) ,from then on in he is your servant all night, saves waiting to get seved at the bar

Hired a car from Valencia airport this time so was able to spread our wings a bit more

Albir Gardens is a clean very friendly place to stay ,plenty for the kids to do (day and night).

Pool area very good although can get a bit noisy, so if you prefer a bit of peace go to the beach.
