We spent a week all inclusive at the Marismas Club Resort - El Rompido and had a wonderful stress free holiday.
It was the first time we had gone all-inclusive and I would not go back simply due to the ease of it.
The restaurant was large and clean with ample high chairs. I thought the food was good but I am a fussy eater, my husband thought it was great!
Breakfast was the usual, cereal, toast (which you had to wait to cook and usually burn in the toast maker), yoghurt, fruit and bacon although not quiet English bacon!. They had beans and cheese also which on most days made up beans on toast for my 3 year old and myself!. Drinks included the usual coffee and juice and there were packets of chocolate milkshake that I was able to make up for my 3 year old.
There was never a rush to finish breakfast to get to the pool as this did not open until 11:00 although we were never out before this time. When we did get to the pool area, we was amazed each day by the choice of sun beds available the majority with shade which was great especially with a 10mth old.
On the latter part of the week a film crew was at the hotel filming a Spanish comedy and although there were many spectators, there was still beds available (although I must add that we were out of school holidays at the beginning of July).
The snack bars by the pool were good serving water, beer and toasties with chips and ice cream throughout the day except when the main restaurant was open!.
Lunch was in the same restaurant with bottles of wine available, some people filled glasses up but we found it easier to grab a bottle of wine or water for the table (not sure if this was allowed!). Food was salad, some cooked and plenty of cheese bread and fruit.
We thought dinner would be a problem as the restaurant did not open until 20:00, but our 3 year old had a siesta and lasted until dinner then the children

The hotel is very isolated but we had a car and this meant we could travel to the beach (about 5 miles away) and have a couple of day trips (Marinezoo in Portugal being 5*s).
The food as others have reported was not suitable for kids and our 3 year old lasted on rolls for dinner for the 2 weeks. I found the food reasonable but far to many fish dishes and the other dishes were never very hot.
The kids club is fantastic and the staff are great, as is the daily activity manager. Our daughter enjoyed the nightly kids disco and ive downloaded the songs so no rest for us now !!!
We would not go again but its a great hotel if you want to sit by the pool and have some relax time.
If youve booked youll get 4* accomodation, quiet but beautiful location, excellent staff and fair/reasonable food.

We arrived quite late on the Saturday evening to be told there was no room for us, but were promptly put up in the 5 star hotel next to ours for the night and next day we were allocated a room.
The staff were very helpful and we were given room service free of charge. The resort is a bit far out and there is not much night life but if you want to chill out for a week then this is the place to go. Not much adult entertainment in the evening.
The staff were very friendly. The food was good but a very limited choice for British visitors.
Our room was cleaned every day with fresh bedding and towels provided.

Hotel excellent. We had 2 bedroomed apartment with 2 bathrooms. Kitchen and dining/living room with TV as well. Lovely scenery overlooking the golf course.
The swimming pool was excellent, lovely and clean but the sunbed/umbrella ratio wasn't very high! Visitors were putting towels on sun beds really early even though told not to. Mainly used by Spanish holidaymakers.
There was entertainment every night and a disco for the kids every night. The kids club was run by hotel, good but security needs to be looked at.
Cleaned and towels changed daily.

The apartmenets were next door to a golfing hotel the facilites were availble to use, however the tennis courts were a mile away.
There was no entertainment apart from the golf and a single bar at night.
During the month of October the swimming pool was freezing, the last week of October the facilities were shut including the transport to the nearest town. Therefore you were stranded with nowhere to buy food or water.
An ideal holiday for golfers, and adults not a child friendly holiday.
To say in the place it would also help to hire a car. But the standard of the hotel and the apartments definitely deserve 5*'s and 4*'s.
