Cambrils Holidays

4 out of 5 from 42 reviews
Located 62 miles south of Barcelona, Cambrils is ticking a lot of boxes for a lot of different people. The key draws remain its near constant sunshine, endless beaches and gastronomic delights, with seafood being at the top of the menu. Equally important is its central location as it is bang in the middle of the Costa Dorada close to the PortAventura theme park and the nightlife of Salou. Other attractions include the nearby vineyards, golf courses and water parks. Alternatively you could stay in Cambril and get lost in the beauty of its old town and its many excellent restaurants.

And please don’t order packed lunch....no more to say on that So Poor,

I'd definitely recommend Cambris as a resort.
Clean, friendly and relatively cheap.
Beach is good, restaurants are varied and general very good, especially locally caught fresh fish.

Salou is 4 miles up the coast for a more lively night life.

Also good location to a number of attractions
- Universal Theme Park (15 mins by bus)
- Water Park with dolphins etc (20 mins by bus)
- Barcelona (2 hrs by bus / train)
- Also can visit Montserrat (monestary and amazing art galery)

Cambrils is a town that was built around the fishing industry and is a fair size. The tourist part is quite small with a number of small shops. It is a good base to explore other areas from. trains and buses will take you to Barcelona and Tarragona, both worth the journey.
The beach is very good either side of the town and the shallow water is safe. There is an excellent promenade which can be followed all the way to Salou.(culture shock!)
Cambrils is quite a peaceful resort despite it`s popularity and hardly a football top in sight!

Cambrills very relaxed and clean although not much English spoken there.

Didn't bother with Salou as we did this on our last visit, a bit like any UK seaside resort but hotter.

The beach was across the road which was idea and gorgeous. Cambrills itself was lovely. I would definetely go back. But not to Cambrills Hotel if I got it for nothing.
All in all Cambrills and Salou are fabulous places and I would head back there in the morning but not to Princess Cambrills.

The resort was the most quiet we've ever been to. Nobody told us that because of the time of year we went the beach would disappear completely!! The tide was in so we had to walk to find a half decent beach. Also the entertainment was pretty poor. Most places were not open yet, but even if they were, we wouldn't have been spoilt for choice!! There was a "Brit" pub down the road, which was ok for one night, but too much after that! We even had a walk up to Salou on one of the numerous rainy days, but were equally disappointed. We also had a day at Port Aventura, one of the most exciting days there, but even half of the attractions there were shut!!

I was dubious about Costa Dorada, but it is an excellent family location.

The beaches are very clean and safe. It seems to be fairly typical of a "Costa" as one correspondent mentioned "Blackpool".

Some areas of Salou are, but Cambrils town is lovely and well worth a visit.

As I said the area near the hotel is very clean - well looked after, altho I would say that people should be carefull of the pavements there - they are not as even as ours and you could easily fall. So beware! The beaches are well cared for - flags show how bad the tide can be, so watch out for the colour warnings.

I will be going back this June to the lovely Cambrils Princess for the fifth time - see you then!

Very nice beaches and a most impressive promenade that seems to go for miles either way. Seats are located every 50 mtrs or so with a bathing shower every 100 on the beach.
They appear to have learnt from the bad publicity of the past as the beach was cleaned every day with special boats scooping up the seaweed non stop. Life guards are posted at regular places and patrol on their jet skis when they want to impress the girls.
Salou town has a huge plaza on the sea front lined with palms etc while the town has a varied architecture. The train station is set a bit far back but lets you get just about anywhere.
Aquapolis water park is well worth a trip and of course you have to go to Port Aventura although dont be fooled into getting tickets that last 2 days an evening one is enough-you can get round everything. Later in the day especially nearer to the midnight firework display youll get on anything without queuing. The display itself is a joy.
As usual for Spain though the transport back was not up to scratch.

The hotel is ideally situated as its not right in the middle of the nightlife but within easy walking distance of bars ( we recommend The Railway for quiz and kareoke nights) Salou is very lively at night and is beautifully lit up. Walked to Cambrills one day but thought it was a bit quiet for us. Aqaupolis is a superb water park and you can spend a whole day there! The beaches around the resort are excellent and a few euros to hire a sun lounger for day is cheap enough. Roll on June 15th
