I am travelling to Estartit for 10 days in July with my wife and two children (aged 2 and 9).
We are intending to round off our break with four nights in Barcelona, currently booked into the Barcelona Princess Hotel.
I are considering going to Port Aventura while we are there. Is a day trip enough? Would anyone recommend the train trip?
OR
Would we be better re-organising for a Salou/Port Aventura break with a day trip (or two) to Barcelona.
Views/opinions/experiences welcomed!!!!!!

Depending upon the age of your children ??
If they are young (ie 16 or younger)...I'd recommend staying in Salou.
Firstly..I'd say the hotels would be cheaper, but more importantly...one day will not be enought at Post Aventura for the kids. They'd 'do' with a single day if that all they get...but they'll be forever wondering why they couldn't have returned again ?
Secondly, its quite cheap by train from Salou into Barcelona ....so you'd be able to go in two days if you wanted.

I agree with Tom.
Port Aventura with the children definately a better option because of their ages, Barcelona is well worth a visit.
