Hi Kanos

I live just outside Belfast, and the Malone Lodge is very near to lots of bars and restaurants, just walk down the hill and you will be falling over them!

If I can help with anything else please let me know

By the way the Malone Lodge is very nice :D

Sorry for the delay in posting as I am just home from holiday. Renshaws is central to all you need in Belfast so go and give it a try.

Hello
We are thinking of coming to Belfast for 2 or 3 days in September. A lot of folk on Trip Advisor were moaning about the noise from the bar/disco in Benedicts. Is this really a problem even mid-week?
Also what else can we do apart from a bus/taxi tour?
Thanks :D

MEET THE NEW BELFAST - IN 72 HOURS

A new cultural guide to Belfast produced by Belfast City Council entitled '72 Hours in Belfast, A Cultural Guide, was launched at the Black Box, Hill Street on June 7 by novelist Glenn Patterson. It encourages visitors to explore the city's galleries, music venues and theatres.

Although Belfast's recent political history continues to attract inquisitive travellers from across the globe, more and more visitors are being drawn by its rich literary, musical and artistic traditions, witnessed by the record 6.8 million visitors who travelled there last year. This has been further endorsed by the 2007 Lonely Planet Guide which encourages visitors to "meet the new Belfast - hip, historical, happening."

As a new dawn breaks over Northern Ireland's political landscape, visitors to the city of Belfast will see it has undergone a dramatic metamorphosis in recent years. With hundreds of millions of pounds of investment in tourism infrastructure, increased air routes, award-winning hotels and a vibrant cultural scene, Belfast is now firmly established as a popular European short-break destination.

Belfast City Council is launching the new guide as part of its Cultural Tourism Strategy which seeks to make specific areas of culture, heritage and entertainment more accessible to visitors - this runs alongside evening economy, visitor management signage and skills development initiatives.

The free guide includes a series of eight practical itineraries to make a visit to Belfast easy to plan, so whether visitors have an afternoon or 72 hours, the handy guide will allow them to uncover the best of Belfast at their own pace. It also details Belfast's theatre, literature, galleries, live music, parks, film and sport and includes self-guided walking tours such as the Van Morrison trail.

The guide is available free of charge from the Belfast Welcome Centre by calling 028 9024 6609 or can be downloaded from gotobelfast.com.

Macca 90, there are lots of things to do in Belfast. Have a look at http://www.gotobelfast.com great site packed of ideas.

http://www.belfastpubtours.com is a good pub tour.

Benedicts is a lively bar in a lively area, but at the beginning of Sept the universities will still be off so should be a wee tad quieter. Most nights now are busy in town, especially Thur - Sun. (Benedicts food is lovely though!!)

Have you looked at other hotels in the centre?

Jurys
Days
Holiday Inn
Radisson
Madisons (more university area)
Dukes (more university area)
Europa
Malmaison
Ten Square
Merchant
Wellington Park (uni area)
Malone Lodge hotel (uni area)

Have a nosey at that site and give us a shout back if any questions.

Hi
Can anyone recommend a decent B & B in the university area of Belfast ( preferably on University St (rd?). It needs to be close to to All Saints Church as we are going to be doing some research there in november
and one of the party has walking difficulties. We have heard of one called Kate's B & B but the last reviews I can find for it are from 2006. Wondering if anyone has stayed there recently or can recommend any others.

Any help appreciated. Thank you

Hi Michelle

University Road and Street are both within walking distance of the city centre so any of the hotels mentioned in this thread will do; especially Benedicts and Malone Lodge.
