Mmmmmm decided on spending approx 4 nights in CM in November. I was there in 2001 so I appreciate it has grown alot since then, any hotel recommendations? I stayed in the Royal Princess last time.
The Centara Duangtuan is very reasonabel but I thing it may be too large and impersonal for me, I am quite happy in small local style hotels too, my only must have is a pool.
Last time we were in CM we stayed out in the countryside which was lovely although the hotel - Suan Bua - was only OK. Plenty of choice in CM of good hotels. We quite liked the look of the Tamarind Village.
Actually Sunbear I like the look of that one too 
there seem to be a host of lovely hotels in CM, thanks for your input, I have decided to stay quite central as it is just myself and daughter going and we do like a good shopping spree
