I don't know the price of a taxi, but the buses are very easy to use 
When you come out of the airport the bus stops are right in front of you and the airport buses No's 747 and 748 will take you into the city. The 748 goes to Heuston Rail Station. The cost of each journey is 5€, the bus drivers are very helpful, and the journey can take anywhere between 30 mins and an hour. I think the last bus leaves the airport around 22.30.
