We have just come back from 2 weeks in Turkey, myself, my partner and 4 kids (12, 10, 10 & 7 years). It's the first time all 4 kids have been away together (new relationship). We had a great time, the hotel had slides and we were right on the beach. We never saw the kids. I booked it a year ago with First Choice online and it cost us £4k, 14 nights all inclusive, with brilliant flights and 2 free child places.
In April when the new holidays came out we went straight to our First Choice shop and booked with Thomsons to Fuerteventura, 14 nights, all inclusive with 2 free child places, costing about £3800 with good flights.
Having returned from Turkey we are wondering whether we have picked the right type of hotel. The lady at First Choice was pushing the 'family' type hotels with Kids Clubs - the kids didn't go near the kids clubs in Turkey, they made their own entertianment. Also the hotel in Fuertenventura is 15 minutes from the beach and we are just worried that the kids will get fed up! They had so many choices this year, 3 pools, the beach, the slide. We are wishing we hadn't booked Fuerteventura now.
We could possibly spend a bit more ( afew hundred £) but no more, but doubt whether any free child places are left and with 4 kids that makes a BIG difference to our budget.
So how hard is it to change or are we best just making a go of it - which will probably be a brilliant holiday anyway

You'll need to ask your travel agent / tour operator the charges for cancelling / changing your booking as there'll normally be a fee involved. It shouldn't be difficult to change, but it may be costly.

Like Darren has said, it shouldn't be too hard to change but there will be costs involved.
I did it this year by changing the hotel with Thomson/First Choice and they charged £35 per person. I think its £35 per each change ie: accommodation, flight, date of travelling etc.
As long as you are prepared to pay, you can change anything.

I've changed it!!!! Going back to Turkey again - woo hoo. Cost us about £900 more but £210 of that is an ammendment fee. We're going to Club Blue Dreams with Thomsons - still got 2 free child places, AI for 2 weeks. Flights aren't as good but we will just have to cope.
So glad I've changed it, had to make a quick decision though as my partner was in a meeting.
