Hi and welcome to HT!

I have split your post from the "Who's going where" topic so that it may get more attention.

the east is where the prettiest beaches are.

You've not been to Akamas/Lara Bay, have you.

Thanks edwardes.m for your reply and the great images of Lara Bay/Akamas beach. I have been there it's a great beach area and so much more besides, one of the many reasons I/we have chosen to end our trip in the Polis area.

I see your point and it's precisely this reason why I intend to spend just a week in the east of the island. I tend to go to Macronissos bay, head right past the water sports area to a small bay area where just a few sunbeds are, it's much quieter than the main part.

I do in the main find the Famagusta beaches prettier than those in the west (apologies for the sweeping statement I made in the first post) but crowded beaches I agree are a problem. There must be some secluded beach areas accessible from the the Kapparis area it would be great if anyone could suggest some, I will be driving so any suggestion are welcome.

@ edwardes.m

When I have decided whether Kapparis should form part of our holiday it would be great to pick your brains for information about Paphos.

Thanks again.

First of all, don't rule out flying to/from Pafos - it takes less than two hours (at legal speed) - to get to Kapparis, and about 45 mins from Larnaka airport.

You may find my map of Kapparis useful... http://tinyurl.com/6rmdx8

And you might find this recent discussion interesting too...

And the CTO lists 28 beaches in Ammochostos/Famagusta for you to discover... http://tinyurl.com/bwltgnq

^Fantastic information, thank you very much for taking the time out to provide that.

I've not ruled out the Paphos return flight more so hoping those I'm traveling with can sleep the two hours it takes to get to Kapparis and also don't mind the journey to Pissouri, it's difficult trying to please everyone or maybe I'm trying a little too hard. I'll have a good look through the links now and comment soon. Again thank you.
