Some of my favourite restaurants in Hammamet are:

Chez Achour - specialises in fish, but have been told the peppered steak is good and I can vouch for the couscous. One of the more expensive Hammamet restaurants but still cheap compared to the same in England.

Le Pecheur - little restaurant right in the centre of Hammamet. Tunisian food, big portions and dirt cheap. But not licensed, so not a good choice if you want wine or beer with your meal.

Cascades - in the south of Hammamet, on the road down to Le Hammamet and Les Orangers hotels. Tunisian food / fish etc. Again at the pricier end but you can have a good feed for about £30 - 40 for 2.

Cactus - not sure if this is still open, but if it is you'll find it almost next door to Le Pecheur. Specialises in various wood smoked grills (if that's the right way of describing it!). It's French run, or at least one half of the couple who own it are French, and it has a more international wine list than most other places I've come across there.

If you like Italian there's Pomodoro, but I've not eaten there so don't know how good it is. I don't really know anywhere in Yasmine, but from general experience I would expect to pay more for the same, than in Hammamet, as Yasmine is purpose built for tourists.

pomodoro on the marina is one of the best fish restaurants in hamammet quite pricy
