For the best steak on the island (in my humble opinion), try Kiki Riki. Their starters are really good also. The only problem with this place, is it is out of town in Cabo Blanco, about 10 drive minutes from Las Americas. A taxi would be needed. Obviously this adds to the cost, but the steak is worth it!

If you fancy a curry, try Rani Tandori in Pueblo Canario, Las Americas.

For something a little more up market with reasonable prices, try La Reserva on the outskirts of los cristianos. This restaurant specialises in Catalan cuisine, and the food is excellent!

Seeing as our favourite tapas bar El Bote has closed, its been 3 years now.We managed to get a table( its always been packed on previouse visits) at El Cine.Tucked away in an alley behind where El Bote use to be.
We had a onion and tomato salad, enough for two, about a dozen grilled prawns,a dozen or so chicken drumsticks,a large plate of Canary potatoes, three glasses of wine and a large beer. All for 20 euros.

Its located in an alley just off Los Cristianos harbour square. Its behind all the booking desks for fishing trips/boat trips.I think there is a resturant called Blue Marlin on one corner of the entrance. The other exit/entrance to this alley is virtually non existent, you would walk past it not knowing its there.

:cheers Well thats another holiday over, boo hoo!

New (or we didn't notice it last year): Hartys. On the compostela beach walkway where scampi's and surfers bar is. At Hartys you get the best burger! We only stopped in for a drink, but seen another couple having burgers so we couldnt resist! Nice friendly people and not lots of blaring tv's or music. Great place for a quick bit of lunch, a nice pint and a good view.

Re-visit: The Bistro in Los Cristianos. A bit disappointed this time round as we had always really enjoyed everything about The Bistro on our previous holidays. The food was still good, but not great, and the waitress was a bit snotty (but you never know she might have just been having a bad night). Maybe it's time to try The Original Bistro as they seem to get better reviews now.

Re-visit: Fortuna in Los Cristianos. Great food yet again, but i did feel that we were being rushed even though it was not so busy and certainly no-one that i could see waiting for a table like usual. We had starters, main courses, wine etc so i'm not sure what was going on, but nevertheless we enjoyed the meal and we will still go back there next holiday.

Re-visit: The Indian Restaurant in Los Cristianos on the street up behind the Fortuna. Last year we were very surprised to find a new indian restaurant that was so good, so we had to go back and see if it was still as good! They have had a bit of a refurb, and the new look is much better. The food is just as tasty, the staff just as friendly and we still say that it is THE BEST indian we have had in Tenerife, so if you haven't tried it then give it a go.

We only had a week this time round so didn't have chance to try anywhere else new, although there wasn't really anywhere that caught my eye.
We are going back in July for 2 weeks and want to make the most of it, so can anyone recommend a canarian or very different style of restaurant that is in, or very near to Los Cristianos (can't walk too far with the old folks and kids ;) )
Has anyone tried the big new restaurant next to the petrol station, is it called something 'international'? I thought it looked great but couldn't persuade the others to try it without hearing from anyone else about it!

Can anyone suggest a reasonable restaurant with cabaret where we can celebrate a 50th and 60th birthday? Generally I think if the restaurant has cabaret then the food is not all it should be. Maybe someone can help. :que

Canarian restaurant in Los Cristianos. We found Restaurant San-Luis. located half way up steps opposite El Romantica, just along the street from La Fortuna. Good service, great food, cheap drinks which are all genuine (no cheap labels). A good night out, Chateaubriand, Paella, Steaks and fish, plus a wide range of Tapas.
If you are not sure, ask to see or taste, we found very accommodating. Have used them for over 17 years.
